Erman_94,

I have the exact same set up as you. Pioneer1018 and SA3250 cable box.

The Pioneer will not allow you to use HDMI over DVI and an optical input for audio. So you must use the Component Video (RED-GREEN-BLUE) cable. Take the output from the 3250 and Plug it into either Comp-1 or Comp-2.

Use an Optical Cable and plug the output from 3250 into either Comp-1 or Comp-2.

On the remote, press 'receiver' then press 'setup'. When the OSD shows up scroll down to number 6. 'Input Select' press enter. You will now be in the assignable menu. Use the scroll wheel to move between input selection (left or right). Stop when you get to TV/SAT. Scroll down to the Digital In, scroll right or left to wherever you put the Audio Optical Cable. Same for the Component In.

Input [TV/SAT]
Digital In [ OPT-1]
HDMI [ OFF ]
Component In [OPT-1 ]

Press the Return Button on the remote. You should now have your optical audio from the 3250 and component video on your TV/SAT button. I renamed mine to "CABLE", which shows up on the Pioneer display.

Good Luck
cwh
