Amazing job by Warner on the remastered BDs this time... Basically the same as UHD without HDR P3

Yes.
So we all get the 1997 DVD Audio Track AND the NEW Sound Effects of the REMASTER/4K in Lossless or Lossy or both. No 35mm Analog/Stereo Mix that was on the VHS and Laserdisc and film print 35mm. No 70mm 4 Mix either. This Atmos downmix is super nice though, and the gunshots are better. Should they just have ported over the Laserdisc, or ripped both 35mm and 70mm and gave us those yes sure. But that would be to perfect and 4K format just gets it done with no extra's if you guys haven't noticed. |

So I know I'll get laughed at for this question, but if one wanted to attempt to contact WB in order to "attempt" to see about the possibility about a replacement disc with the original audio mix, how would they begin that process?
Again, I know my chances but I'm just curious. |

I picked up all 4 and have so far watched Batman. This was my first viewing so I'll give my thoughts on the movie too. I had only seen Batman Forever previously.
The movie was good but not what I was expecting at all. I was expecting an origin story, but maybe it's good that it wasn't. Then I'd probably be comparing it to Batman Begins, which is an exceptional movie in my mind. It didn't feel very Burtonesque to me, but then I'm mostly familiar with his work since Sleepy Hollow so maybe that's to be expected. It also felt quite dated, but I tried to ignore this as SFX were only so good in 89. [Show spoiler] I also felt like it spent more time on the Joker than Batman, it seemed like it was more his story.I definitely liked it but did not feel it was as great as it seems most people in this thread do. But I can totally believe if I was older and saw this in 1989, it might have had more an an impact. I felt Michael Keaton was the weakest link. He wasn't convincing to me at all, as either Batman or Wayne. I was surprised by that because I've always heard how disappointed people were with Kilmer and Clooney as Batman. Bassinger was pretty good as was the actor who played Alfred. I thought Nicholson was exceptional as the Joker. Seems like there's pretty much universal agreement on that. That was the highlight for me. [Show spoiler] The picture quality was excellent. This is one of the better UHDs I have seen. You will definitely want this if you like the movie. The sound effects seemed fine to me, but of course it was my first time hearing them. Sucks if you're used to hearing them a different way though. (Some of you guys seem as intimately familiar with this movie as I am with Back to the Future! ![]() I'm looking forward to watching the others in the next couple weeks! |

I’ll remind everyone that Donner wasn’t even aware that the extended version of Superman: The Movie had new sound effects. He was told that they were “enchanced,” which best describes what was done for the other three Batman films. In both these cases, they were outright changed.
Burton has been pretty adamant in the past about not wanting to change any of his previous works. He also doesn’t look back to fondly on making the film and obviously isn’t as attached to it as us fans are. |

I do think I prefer the Burton/Nicholson take on Joker better than the Nolan/Ledger take. They're both good though. |
