You can get 4K77 and 4K83. Those aren’t a mishmash of digital sources (as far as I know).

Can you buy a factory pressed disc of them?

I don’t think Lucas/DISNEY will ever wake up and smell the coffee. There’s a demand for the originals that isn’t being met - or even acknowledged. Thankfully, other options are available.

I agree. I posted in the UHD thread also about how Disney can't be bothered to release 90% of their back catalogue on disc and when they do they have no problem releasing edit versions.

No, but you can download them, and they aren’t a mishmash of digital sources which was your complaint.

I tried to download them but couldn’t do it. I’m stuck with the 2006 unaltered DVD releases. Still, it’s better than the SE Trilogy - even with the subpar A/V presentation.

Someone on another forum who attended the 70mm screening said the 4k77 was a pretty accurate representation of what he saw. That’s why I’ve just come to accept that those 4K/35mm scans are as good as it’s gonna get and enjoy them frequently without stressing about a home video release. And you know if Lucasfilm does do it themselves you guys are gonna find issues with it anyway.

Sure, nothing beats a 4K scan from the OCN, but these particular fan restorations are the next best thing. And there’s plenty of options with regrades and grain management for your own optimal exerpiece.

If we could get a nice 4K scan of the OCN from Disney (even in an SE variant) I am confident a Harmy-like version would emerge and give us the ultimate original version.

Always kept putting of the Blu-Ray's. Finally just got both of the two separate sets at the Salvation Army of all places. It was $10 even with the 3 Austin Powers Blu-Ray's.

Probably just new packaging if anything. If there was a new release with different content angels would come down from high to bring us the news.

You can easily search by the UPC. It looks like a probable repackage with digital copy. Has Disney released them individually with DC's before?

Probably one last go-around before the supposed theoretical heavily-rumored box set next year?
