Whatever they do is fine, as long as Hayden Christensen is not at the end of Return of The Jedi.

Please, I have had to live with that ending on the DVD boxset since my VCR perished and have been unable to pop in the VHS without Hayden.

Hell I can even live with the storm trooper on the lizard scene. But yeah the end of Jedi needs to go back to the way it was.

Maybe they can clean up a few of the added effects, like Jabba in the Hangar.

My biggest beef is Vader's no.

Knowing Disney expect a $200-$300 for the 4K Episodes 1-9 complete box set.

The sad thing is that I would gladly pay that much if it were the only way to get a proper high-def release of the OT's theatrical cuts...

Get me the original song from Jabba's palace. That new song is the most egregious addition to any of the movies.

Just include every version of the films ever released and everybody will be a happy camper.

For 9 films with UHD and Blu-ray Discs of each film, that’s probably a decent bet. Would be a fair price imo

Re: The 5 year search for the best elements to use in the 4K restoration.

The irony of Lucas wanting every original print turned in and (supposedly) destroyed. Meanwhile 4K77 is a sight to behold in all of its contraband, IB Print glory.

Y'all gonna hate me...I kinda dig the concept of pre-nutjob Hayden Anakin showing up as his true self in the altered Return of the Jedi. Maybe not the execution, but the concept...we're talking really about unpacking all kinds of religious metaphors there...I think that's pretty cool. Execution? Sure, half-assed. But the idea? Solid.

Agreed. The idea is fine and fits with what is canon about Force Ghosts. It takes a conscious effort for a Jedi to manifest as a ghost so it's not a leap that they could manifest as their younger self if they wanted to. And TLJ kind of reinforced this when Luke manifested on Crait as a slightly younger version of himself.

I will always be against the Hayden force ghost but if it has to be there they could have chosen to not have him have a "I just peed in your shoes" smirk on his face.

I want Star Wars 77 as much as anybody but I would not turn my nose up at a fresh master of the version currently in the Complete Saga set either.

I'm not a huge video snob nor am I sensitive to most of the issues that cause such high dudgeon in these parts but there's just something about that transfer that's borderline unwatchable.

You don’t have to be to want the original versions. This shouldn’t have to be a problem.

True, but then why isn’t Obi Wan, Ewan McGregor there?

I’t just does’t work with Hayden IMHO.

It's almost as if there's a big difference between Obi-Wan's life story and Anakin's.

Then why have Sebastian Shaw in there in the first place?

Did they not have the technology to hire an actor in his twenties back then?

I think he's referring more to the blatant color timing issues and general sloppiness of the Lowry "restorations". Those transfers have far bigger technical problems then just the fact that they are the SEs.

They did but he was out that day with the same flu that kept James Earl Jones from being to shout out "No, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO".
