If I keep my order for the 4K boxset, I’m planning on putting all of the single 4K discs into the complete saga blu ray boxset and placing those into the book packaging so that they don’t get damage by them being taken out repeatedly.

How many of you received a copy with an outer box in mint condition or close to mint?

Anyone have scratches on any of the discs?
My outside box came in perfect mint condition... made only SLIGHTLY less so by the faintest of glue stains. The cardboard slip didn't even give me a chance to remove it carefully, it just fell off when I started to cautiously investigate it. I'm pretty OCD and even I'm not going to sweat it; you'd have to be looking for it to see it.

As for the discs, they call came out 100% pristine for me, except for a single ultra-fine hairline scratch on RISE OF SKYWALKER. I removed all the discs using a piece of lens tissue to grab both sides firmly without causing lint or fingerprints. But once I got the discs out, I put 'em in different cases. No way I'm taking discs in and out of that cardboard.

I couldn't be happier with my purchase... and the new box looks fantastic next to my 1993 THX "Definitive Collection" LaserDisc set.

Yes I will keep it, because it is signed by a lot of actors from the OT.
I can’t part with it.

This is Blu-ray.com... not Streaming.com... I don't pay for Disney+ I'm physical media only. The people who only wanna watch it on Disney+ likely wouldn't fork cash for a physical set anyway. Except for hard core Starwars fans...so selling it for half while keeping The 4ks is an affordable alternative for some who are shy on pulling the trigger.

Depends on you. I dumped my 2011 set on eBay a while ago. But I don't watch extras, ever. They have no value to me. I'll be buying the individual 4Ks when I can get them for $20 each. I don't like box sets because the packaging always sucks and they never fit on the shelf nicely with other discs. I don't even keep the slipcovers, tbh.

It looks waxy, like a heavily processed upres with massiv amounts of DNR and EE.
I actually watched my 4K disc couple nights ago and its very waxy, that's what took me out of enjoying the film which is my favorite Star Wars movie. Funny though that I didn't notice EE. Renegade Grindhouse Edition will hold me over until 4K80 is complete. Just sold my 4K UHD to a member here. It does suck that Star Wars and the MCU didn't really get definitive releases at this point in actual home physical media, especially at the tech we are at.

Nope. I'm going to sell mine off as soon as the used CD/movie store down the street opens back up (if it opens back up, that is).

You can like both. The Mandalorian isn't on physical media, neither is Lady and the Tramp.

Ok thanks, I'll just keep the FREE superior 4K77 and 4K83 instead of buying the UHD's.

Still, i think the effects of the jpeg compression are negligible:
JPEG vs. PNG:

Lossless is better, but it does not change the fact that these look 'atrocious' regarding the PQ.

anyone else think Empire is out of focus on the negative scan?

Not one of those shots looks in focus

I'm using Star Wars Comic covers drawn by Phil Noto for my custom covers. There are several to choose from. Including all 3 trilogies, single portraits of characters, cast shots, and movie adaptions covers. His art as Starwars is concerned is near photo realistic, the drawings are slightly stylized but actor accurate and gorgeous.

I’m going more for the idea of the covers on D+; the Struzan posters with colorized star fields/nebulas around the sides, albeit at much better quality than the D+ covers which are horribly photoshopped.

@Vangeli, also quite gorgeous covers, I've always enjoyed his art, especially Indiana Jones and BTTF work you could probably pull more of his stuff for other films. I'm editing, mine will have a small Star Wars logo on the bottom right with a roman numeral, Spines with SW logo and numerals, and finally the subtitles on back with a row of photos and a synopsis
