In the commentary for TLJ, Rian Johnson said this about the opening crawl music.

“We re-recorded it with John Williams. They re-record it every time they do it. The more interesting thing for me was the mix. Realizing it’s just like mixing a song. Realizing there’s many different ways you can mix that opening fanfare. And if you listen to all the different movies, every single one of them has a slightly different take on the mix of the fanfare. Some are brighter, some are warmer. The Force Awakens one has a sharper attack to it. We went for a warmer-type feel.”

I was curious if it was true that they’re different recordings for all the movies so I decided to listen to them. It’s clear that the original trilogy crawls are all different, but the prequel trilogy ones sound to me like they're all the same recording, just mixed differently. With the sequel trilogy, TROS has a different recording from the first two but TFA and TLJ sound identical to me. I listened to them a few times and I'm convinced they are the same recording and mix. I always assumed all nine films had different recordings but that’s not true. I wonder why Rian Johnson thinks the TLJ version is different from TFA. Sounds 100% the same to me.

Is there a Skywalker Saga blu-ray only set available in US/Canada? I have no interest in 4K but I'd like to get the newer remasters. I see the UK has it and it's a lot cheaper than buying the individual releases.

Probably because RJ was in the room at the recording studio when they recorded the opening fanfare for TLJ, and posted a video of it:

In the US, the remasters are currently only bundled with the UHD discs, either the complete set or as individual releases.

Why not buy the UK set? The discs are likely all-region (many state region A,B,C on the disc), and according to this at least play in regions A and B:

Yeah I plan on it the increased shipping costs might make me wait for a bit though.

I like the look of this set. I just wish it was cheaper. I already own the DVDs, BDs and UHDs.
My collection looks like Frankenstein's Monster.

I wonder why the battle droids were so different in Episode 3? They had much more personality and they were less robotic. They even shouted run to others when the Jedis were attacking near the beginning of the movie. They weren't like that before and also their voices sounded very different. Did it bother anyone else? I like both versions but I always found it odd how they were changed to be more funny.

There were so many other things that bothered me about that movie, I never even realized they were different.

Just third-movie-syndrome, I think. Everything becomes a caricature. Brody and Sallah in LAST CRUSADE, Gimli in RETURN OF THE KING, everyone in STAR TREK III and IV... etc.

Actually, I get a huge kick out of the battle droid who says "you're welcome" sarcastically after Grievous grabs the captured lightsaber out of his hand.

Hell, Super Battle Droids never spoke in Attack of the Clones. Then they did in Revenge of the Sith and it was with Super Wimpy Voices. I burst out laughing!
Also, the Vulture Droids talked in Revenge of the Sith as well. I was like WtF?

Gimli became a joke in The Two Towers.

I have the saga set for the extras, and the Despecialized for the actual films. That’s going to have to do unless Disney ever releases the OOT, which is nigh-impossible while Lucas is alive and unlikely even afterwards.

I'm sorry, but the best scene TTT is when Gimli and Legolas are arguing over the number of slain Urukai.

Yeah, but before the battle started, they changed his height to make the joke of him not seeing over the side of the castle!

What I think discourages many North American consumers is the international shipping costs associated with purchasing European Blu-ray releases. I know that's one of the reasons that has discouraged me from ordering online from European retailers.

I don’t think it’s that bad. When I order from Amazon DE or UK shipping is usually about $8-10. Then there’s the fact that we Americans don’t have to pay that moronic VAT tax. I think that’s reasonable from across the globe. If you buy in bulk it will also save you on shipping costs.
