Even though I severely disagree I have to respect your ranking for being completely original and unlike any ranking I have ever seen in my lifetime.

I think 2018 has a 1:1 pro:con ratio. It was good, but failed to live up to it’s potential.

I love trailers for 70s/80s horror films. The trailer for I Spit on Your Grave springs to mind as another one where the title is spoken about fifty thousand times.

They were probably trying to mind-control people so that when they went to the theater they’d buy a ticket for a movie they didn’t intend on seeing. I could picture people going about their business and saying “Halloween” or “I Spit on Your Grave” over and over without realizing it.

The cult story explained why Michael was evil. When he was six he killed his sister but now with the cult being involved at Smith's Grove we are led to believe they tapped into his evil side when he was young and was controlling him or whatever it was they did to him. Who knows. lol

I never considered the idea that the cult tapped into Michael’s evil side when he was young. I always assumed they just picked him at random and cursed him to kill his family, which wasn’t that successful since the only family member he killed was his sister when he was six (and Jamie in the t-cut). Mrs. Blankenship says that Michael heard a voice when he was a little kid that told him to kill his family, and later on Wynn tells Loomis “We’ve given him the power, the gift of Thorn.” So I believe in the p-cut Wynn turned Michael into a murderer, whereas in the t-cut it seems like Wynn realized Michael was pure evil after Loomis kept talking about how evil he was, so Wynn decided to study his evil.

To me the weirdest thing about H5 is the Thorn tattoo on Michael’s wrist. I believe the original intention was that Michael was resurrected by a character called Dr. Death who performed a ritual and put the Thorn mark on Michael which brought him back to life. But since they removed that character and just had a hermit take care of him for a year, who put the tattoo on Michael’s wrist? Was it always there? Did the Man in Black put it there? The movie offers no explanation, and the filmmakers had no idea who the Man in Black was or what the Thorn symbol meant. The director of H5 knew the symbol was an evil rune but it makes no sense without the Dr. Death scene.

Actually, I think I was confusing you with dallywhitty. I believe he has the H6 Producer’s Cut at number 3. Not sure why I thought it was you. Maybe I saw both your rankings at the same time and noticed you both had H3 in the number two spot and confused you with him. I don’t see H3 ranked that high too often so that’s probably what I’m remembering. Either that or I had a Thorn-induced fever.

I get that. H4 is my favorite Halloween sequel and might be considered the most “fun” Halloween movie. At times it feels like an entertaining 80s action movie. Like the scene when Loomis confronts Michael at the diner and Michael escapes and brings down a power line and then Loomis hurls himself over a trash can. I love that whole sequence including the music.
