Can't speak to most of those, though Amazon has been wonky with their listings ever since the pandemic began. For instance, Amazon Canada has Thoroughly Modern Millie in stock, but as you say, Amazon US does not. But when I order films from Amazon Canada, they are almost always shipped to me here in Canada from an Amazon US warehouse. |

Who You Think I Am Directed by Safy Nebbou Starring Juliette Binoche Academy Award®-winner Juliette Binoche (The English Patient) balances cunning and vulnerability in this romantic cyber-drama turned psychological thriller from writer-director Safy Nebbou. Ghosted by her hunky twentysomething lover, Claire (Binoche), a middle-aged professor and single mom, creates a fake Facebook profile to do a little undetected online snooping. But when her 24-year-old avatar “Clara” is friended by her ex’s equally attractive roommate (François Civil), superficial correspondence quickly escalates towards intense intimacy and uncontrollable obsession. Adapted from Camille Laurens’ best-selling novel—and co-scripted by Julie Peyr, a regular collaborator of Arnaud Desplechin—Who You Think I Am blends genres and bends reality to dizzying effect. Special features: *The Making of Who You Think I Am *Trailers WhoYouThinkIAm_BD_forsocial.jpg |

Coming to DVD and Blu-ray November 9th from Cohen Media Group and Kino Lorber!
White as Snow Directed by Anne Fontaine Starring Lou de Laâge and Isabelle Huppert When Claire (Lou de Laâge, The Innocents), a beautiful but reserved young woman unwittingly provokes the furious jealousy of her evil stepmother Maud (Isabelle Huppert, The Piano Teacher), life as she knows it is over. Sent far away from home, Claire awakens, both figuratively and literally, in a small village in the French mountains. As if by magic, her formerly shy demeanor is gone and she is suddenly aware of her feminine power. It’s the beginning of a radical emancipation. As Claire meets the locals and starts to take joy in her sexuality, soon one, two, three... seven men fall under her charm. For the first time in her life she allows herself to indulge in no-strings sex, taking pride in belonging to no one. But then Maud arrives wanting to reconnect, and Claire must decide who to trust—her sophisticated but cold stepmother, or the circle of adoring men that now surround her. Includes: *Trailers *English subtitles WhiteAsSnow_BR.jpg |

Then you don't really care about film Kino, if there's no reason to recall a disc where on the previous DVD all 3 sections of overture, intermission and exit music are in stereo but not on your blu-ray, which was touted as the roadshow edition (which I saw in 1968 and it was ALL stereo). I totally believe it is Universal's fault, but if someone like you doesn't stand up for what you release, it's a lost fight right from the start isn't it? And for those of you who say that having those 3 sections in mono rather than the stereo they are supposed to be is no big issue, I am willing to bet this is not one of your favorite films, but each person I have seen make a comment like that, looking into their posting history, they sure have complained about the titles they love.
Universal should be repressing this and replacing it...and Kino should get behind its customers. That is what should have happened with Sweet Charity with the omission of the breaks for that "roadshow" release. There are 3 titles important to me from Universal, from the Kino deals. Sweet Charity was a big problem as the intermission and exit music were left off (yet advertised on the package). Now Millie's Overture, Intermission and exit music are in Mono. I wonder how Flower Drum Song will be screwed up. I am sorry Kino but when a distributor like yours says "no reason to fix it." it says volumes about how much you really care for the people keeping you in business. I have had alot of respect for you and have over 400 of your titles, but my opinion of you just changed very much. You should be standing behind the film fans and at least try to force Universal to fix this problem. Last edited by oildude; 08-31-2021 at 06:34 PM. |

![]() This is getting old, man... Kino cares plenty about films. Look at all the rare gems they've released and continue to release. They probably just aren't concerned with something so minor that is out of their control that only a single obsessed Millie superfan is upset about... I was critical of KLI's rather short temper in the past, but these past few weeks I've come to realize they're probably more patient than I'd ever be if I had to do their thankless job. Sure, no label has a spotless track record and criticisms should be made when there's an actual reason, but the sheer overreaction and entitlement from some quarters borders on lunacy.

Kino aren't immune to mistakes and screws-ups and when they happen, people should absolutely go ahead and mention them. Maybe Kino can and will act upon them, maybe they can't or won't. But there comes a point where people have to employ a little bit of perspective. And, yes, even in the context of a forum discussing blu-ray releases. There are two users in particular, who all know they are, continually railing on about the Thoroughly Modern Millie release. If this were a physical space, those two people would be sucking up all of the energy in the room as they start going off their nut about the preservation of cinema and all that jazz. So the overture and entr'acte are in mono when they should be in stereo. Well that sure sucks. But just grit your teeth, have a bit of a moan under your breath about it and move on. To keep going on and on and on about it only creates white noise for everyone else and whatever sympathy or support people may have evaporates because you can tell any semblance of reason has gone completely out the window anyway. |

"Thankless" is a little strong. I assume they are paid employees. Then there are the dozens of posts literally thanking them. I agree they deal with a lot of bullshit and are forced to answer the same questions over and over, but it's not like they are doing it for free. I'm sure a lot of what they do and say in this thread directly results in sales of their titles, which I imagine is the reason they still do it.
