I'm sorry I can't go on describing the scenario because I'm beginning to get upset.

Anyhow, NOW all I have to do is say - buy me a BLU-RAY! (Although I do have some relatives who think that Blu-ray is a slang term for porn, which causes an awkward moment as I have to explain what I mean.)

However, it did occur to me that movie studios are illogical (i.e. Paramount), and they just might decide to release full screen versions of films. Please, blu-ray brethren, ease my mind and tell me they can't do that.

It's a pretty strange concept to be hearing from you guys talk about buying the "full screen" or "widescreen" editions. I live in the UK and we've had 16:9 for years now and when DVD come in everything was straight away 16:9 right through, never had to worry about that sort of issue over here.. well thats in my fuzzy memory anyhow.

Don't be jealous. I checked it out because I liked their online price, and quickly found out that, in the store, they charge full retail (which they kind of say in the online fine print). However, if you gotta have that hard to find title today, they're probably your best shot (but that's all you should be jealous about). That and Virgin megastore which is the next town over (Ontario).

On the subject of price, I also got a tip from this guy that works at my local Blockbuster. We have a store in CA called Fry's Electronics. Every Friday they put a four page ad in the Orange County Register (ocregister.com) that truly has killer deals on blu-rays. He said that Best Buy will honor that price. Haven't tried that out yet, but probably will soon. The closest Fry's to me is about an hour's drive.

All I really want them to do is keep the origanl aspect ratio of how it was captured. I mean IMAX is 4:3 so I don't mind that in blu-ray...
