That is not a bootleg. That version is supposed to have a slip though. I got one for around 10 bucks and it has the exact same discs, bonus features as well.

he bootleg image is interesting, because it not only has the top of Vader's helmet, but more of Vader's leg as well. So it's less cropped overall, and it's the same with the back, plus the back of the slipcover doesn't have '9-DISC SET! ALL 6 MOVIES! MORE THAN 40 HOURS OF EXTRAS!" right at the top.

It's like the bootleggers got a copy of an almost-but-not-quite-final version of the cover art and started pumping out copies, while Lucasfilm for some reason zoomed in and added some quick promo text before printing the official slipcovers.

That's fine. Even though I think that the picture quality of the PT on this set is marginally better, I have to admit that the differences that do exist are virtually imperceptible between the 2011 and 2020 transfers, and the worth of this set is definitely the extras.

That one is most certainly a bootleg. It doesn’t have text on the back that mentions over forty hours of extras. It’s also curiously no longer available.

This video shows that same set and mentions how the bottoms of the discs are black.

Star Wars complete Saga bootleg epidemic!

This buyer purchased both copies from Amazon, clearly not Amazon.com as a seller, but a secondary seller. Based on what I've been able to research, Amazon.com themselves don't carry either of the Blu-ray editions this set anymore, only secondary sellers, which only increases this problem.

I would be highly suspicious of anyone still selling new, sealed copies at this point. Used copies on eBay with actual pictures of the set on sale is probably best bet. If you order on Amazon you maybe can request a refund if you get a bootleg.

Amazon also uses comingled inventory, so they don't even know what they're selling you. Any Marketplace sellers who ship out of Amazon's warehouses, all the product goes into the same storage spot. So if Joe's Store is selling legit copies, while Steve's store is selling bootlegs, when you order from Joe, you might actually get a copy from Steve. Then when you complain to Amazon about receiving a bootleg, the legit seller Joe is the one who gets the hit for a refund, because you ordered from him, even though their system picked a copy sent in by Steve.

I would never be an Amazon reseller.

yes Troops is included in the spoofs bonus feature. i prefer this saga collection blu ray set since the separate 4k blu rays dont even have certain bonus features that the saga collection blu ray set has

I've double-checked and triple-checked... no Troops. Plenty of other great stuff on the three bonus feature discs, though.
