Adios, Sabata, Finders Keepers and The Hunting Party have all sold out, the DVD for HP is still available, but it'll be removed from the WSL sale.

A Town Called Hell has been removed, but may be added back, we're trying to locate 50 or so copies we see in inventory, but not at the warehouse.

Lots of Bava leaving. I wonder if there is a chance we will get the Italian version of Bay of Blood in HD from someone now?

Either way, lots of good titles leaving.

Surprised about Since You Went Away and They Shoot Horses, Don't They? and a few others. I'd been avoiding buying Away because I hate Shirley Temple and Jennifer Jones with the burning passion of a thousand suns, but now that I know its days are numbered I might have to pick it up just for my girl Claudette.

@ KL Insider

Little surprised both Kolchak TV movies are going OOP - I remember you saying they were both great sellers?

Not only did it have Conrad Veidt in the lead, but Bela Lugosi also appeared in a supporting role. Chances are against it, though, as it does not appear to have played much outside of Germany, and the last prints were most likely destroyed in fires during the war.

But then, sometimes miracles do happen. Prints do turn up places where nobody has thought of looking before, like the more or less complete version of Metropolis, which turned up in a South-American film archive; or the original version of Dreyer's Jeanne d'Arc, which was long thought to be lost when a print was discovered in a Norwegian asylum. And then there are the cases of films mislabeled. The sole surviving print of one of Tod Browning's and Lon Chaney's best movies, The Unknown, turned up in the national French film archive. It was labeled correctly, but due to the name on the cannisters, it was placed among a large stack of other reels with unknown content, until someone some day made the connection and checked.
Yes, and even more random was the finding of about 3/4 of the original silent The Gold Diggers, which the owner has slowly been putting on YT. It's too bad it's missing just enough to not justify a full release.

Been dragging my feet on the Bava releases because I still have the excellent old Anchor Bay box sets.

Should I pick them up now or wait for someone else to re-release them down the road...

Decisions...

Most of these newly added Disney titles were big to very big sellers, they were not interested in renewing them.

Less than a handful of the Bava titles were good to very good sellers, but once again we couldn't come to an agreement with the rights holder, their asking price was too high.

Thanks!
Sorry, but the list is too long and I don't have the time. The guy had listed the titles, so all I had to do was add legal issues, Paramount, etc.

As everyone has already commented, wow, those are some huge losses! I'm sure someone else (Arrow?) will pick up the Bava titles and hopefully release them on UHD, so I'm less worried about them, but who knows if we'll ever see many of these other titles again if Disney is refusing to license out their films.

Kino Insider - You've mentioned a few new August releases recently. Any chance we could get an updated schedule, or has it yet to be finalized? Thanks.

Maybe two or three at most. The rest are going out of print for good.

My only issue with many of those releases were the lack of the Italian audio but otherwise most were excellent releases.
These are from different rights holders, so they're not going out of print:

BLACK SABBATH (AIP)
HATCHET FOR THE HONEYMOON
HERCULES IN THE HAUNTED WORLD
PLANET OF THE VAMPIRES
THE WHIP AND THE BODY

And we may give the two DR. GOLDFOOT movies a double-feature re-release, Bava directed the second one.

I have been thinking about whether this would happen ever since Arrow's rights to most of their Bava releases ended around January 1.

I have most of the Arrow releases, but I hope we will see them again from someone, when/ if new 4K transfers become available.

(To be honest, though, the one I want to see upgraded the most is The Whip and the Body, which belongs to a different rights-holder. The existing BD transfer is a sad affair and it is such a beautifully lit film that really needs the best (the is a rumor that it is actually coming out from 88 Films later this year, as the 2022 plan they posted on social media contains the word 'whip'. But who knows? Might be something else)).

EDIT: Looks like it was 88 Films and not Arrow that had 'whip' listed among their clues for upcoming titles.

The Arrow UK version of this is region free. I got it the KL BD of Running Scared the other day. Haven’t seen it in so long that I barely remember it & am looking forward to revisiting it.
