Not only do the 2020 OT blu rays look vastly better than the 2011/2019 versions, they are the closest the OT has looked to its original version since prior to 2004. But it should be noted that they only come with the 4Ks. Any lone blu ray of the OT you see is the inferior 2011/2019 version.

I also believe the 2011/2019 PT blu rays are slightly better than the 2020 PT blu rays. But I also agree that the differences are probably imperceptible to most people.

Also some of the OT behind the scenes material from the 70s/80s got ported over to the 4ks but I dont know if they are the ones martydmc12 is looking for.

Picked up a copy of The Complete Saga BD set yesterday at a pawn shop for $40, only for the bonus discs for the OT. Now along with my BDs of the Despecialized OT and this:

my Star Wars collection is complete.

I thought mine was complete until I realized I was missing the The Story of Star Wars DVD, but I picked that up new for $15 last year. From DVD on I own everything Star Wars that’s available on disc including soundtracks. I’m slowly working on the canon books after reading the legends books years ago.

In Europe, the 2020 versions are individually available in 4K UHD, BD, and DVD. Both separately and as trilogies.

I would never be an Amazon reseller.
wow, that's crazy never knew that
also makes it hard as a customer to know which seller to trust, could be burned by one.... except it was actually someone else who burned you

So you want to ring in the new year by blowing up the Death Star? Here's the viewing instructions! See below for Digital, DVD and Blu-ray times

1. Set up early! Cue up your copy of A NEW HOPE. Go to the main menu, start the movie and hit pause once it starts. Make sure the counter reads 0:00:00. Once you hit play, the first thing you see needs to be the 20th Century Fox logo and fanfare (Remember that?). When you reach the designated time (as determined below), hit the play button. You can use this website to determine the exact time as determined by our nation's atomic clock.

2. Watch the movie! If you have the capabilities, watch television coverage of the countdown to midnight via picture-in-picture.

3. If you timed it just right, and your media player didn't have any hiccups, the Death Star will explode at exactly midnight. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

4. Celebrate with friends, family, and beverages of your choice.

START TIMES:

Disney+ Digital Edition aka “The Maclunky”: Press Play at 10:02:43pm. The Death Star will explode at 1:57:17 into the movie.

Blu-ray Disc/Digital Streaming: Press play at 10:02:42 PM. The Death Star will explode at 1:57:18 into the movie.

Special Edition DVD: Press play at 10:02:48 PM. The Death Star will explode at 1:57:12 into the movie.

Oh wow, that is weird. I thought Joe and Steve would ship from their own respective places kinda like ebay.

Looking to add some star wars BDs to the collection, am thinking of the 2011 saga set with the anakin/luke tatooine artwork (i'm not going to watch the films, got plenty of semi-specialised/fan edit etc. cuts on a drive that are go-to's to an actual watch).

Couple of q's -[edit ignore this part, youtube has shown me the US and UK version is indeed different and in the UK version the artwork from US version's box/disc pages is included in the special features guide booklet] from what i can tell the US version's packaging may be different to the UK version where the former has pockets for the discs, while the UK version might just have regular plastic disc holders? from what i've seen elsewhere on this site i get the impression pockets might be considered inferior with risk of scratching discs etc. (maybe the UK version was changed due to feedback re: this?) - but first q is is this understanding correct or are both the US/UK versions the same, second q is if the UK version indeed doesn't have the pockets then is the artwork featured on the 'pages' of the US pocket version spoiled in the UK version by having half of it covered by the regular plastic disc holder put over it?

third q is - this set seems pretty good in terms of extras, is this the best set for extras (possibly short of going for one of those huge 9 film collections, which i guess might have more to try and be more 'definitive' - but i'm not interested in the sequel trilogy to be honest)?

I have that Blu set and the extras are okay but the ones on the DVDs were a little better in my opinion. The 2 disc DVD sets for the prequels and the 4th disc in the silver DVD set of the OT.

All of them can be found pretty regularly used for cheap, and I even see loose copies of that 4th disc for the OT at thrift stores so you could get that pretty easily.

That is also really bad for sellers too! If Steve puts in bootlegged or opened crap as genuine new and then Amazon sends the item Steve sent in to the person who bought from Joe and then returns it, then Joe the seller gets messed over because some other seller he has nothing to do with sent in bad stuff?? And then Joe gets his ratings knocked down as well?

Can anyone tell me if there was a re-release of the individual trilogy Blu-ray sets that featured Vader on the Original Trilogy and Yoda on the Prequel trilogy? I've been trying to search eBay for a reasonable priced set of the Complete saga or these individual prequel/original trilogy sets and am very nervous about picking up a bootleg. Even if it comes from a user that is the Salvation Army.

I see on eBay more than a few alternate versions of the Yoda and Vader trilogy covers; instead of the profile images of the two characters, you see their whole face looking straight off the cover with their lightsabers on. Does anyone know if these are bootlegs? This site doesn't show any listings for these alternative covers that I can see.

EDIT: I see on the first post that the re-release of the trilogy sets do in fact have this alternate Yoda and Vader covers I mentioned. I didn't scroll down enough to see them.

If you're looking to buy all of the first 6 episodes, you should get the Complete Saga set instead of the individual trilogy sets, since the Complete Saga set comes with the bonus discs, and the Trilogy sets do not.

That said, they're all out of print, since Disney took over and has only released the 9 episode Skywalker Saga set, and individual movie releases, in UHD Blu-ray.
