Yeeha!

Can't wait to see Peter Weller punch out Meg Foster in glorious 4K!

I hope so. There are still way too many Belmondo and Delon films that they have. Also, hoping some of Criterion rights on certain films lapse, and maybe you guys can pick them up as well.

I'm missing 1 of the mission in action movies... I think it is the 3rd one. I'd appericate a release.

We received 8 masters from the deal this past week, but none of the ones we've announced so far, go figure.

Somehow the Shout release of Leviathan slipped under my radar until it was OOP, so I'll happily pick up the UHD from Kino.

Yes, old pros Bob Cummings and Dorothy Malone are quite prominent in BEACH PARTY, rather than just doing cameos.

10 years from now, all works from 1936 and earlier will be copyright-free. I wonder if that will change anything. Is there anything from 1936 or earlier of interest that currently cannot be issued on Blu-ray due to rights or clearance issues that would then be available?

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the thread, so I apologize, but do we know when the next sale will be? I was doing a cross-country move during the last one 😭

I believe the Insider has said it's at the end of June/into July

Really? Because inviting suggestions is something a lot of companies do. Polling paying customers to ask for feedback or things you would like to see from them next. Warner have done it, so have Sony. It’s why people post wishlists. It’s what led to Warner Bros making a fourth Dirty Harry film.

There have been several occasions the KLI has shot down some suggested title only to do an about-face. He practically laughed in the face of the guy who suggested Skullduggery, then a year or so later Kino releases it.

You can appeal to authority all you want but the KLI outright stated they got it wrong with Thunderbirds and there’s an entire (While Supplies Last) page on their website that is full of titles I’m betting they thought would have sold a lot better than they actually did. Table For Five has been on there for years at like $5 and they still can’t get rid of it.

My SF edition of Leviathan arrived with dents and punctures in the sleeve and cover art. It was like a dog got a hold of it. Discs was loose and a little scratched too but played fine.

I always wanted a good excuse to replace it though.

The beach party movies are all somewhat similar and if you watched them consecutively, they would play as one extended time capsule. The thing about them is you have to want to completely immerse yourself in that time and place because they're dated in an incredibly specific but enjoyable way, so they may have a limited audience precisely because of that. They were made way before I was born, but the beach party movies are completely idiotic, entertaining and, most importantly, wonderfully evocative of the era.
