OK, your receiver has 4 HDMI inputs and 1 output, you can have your cable/sat, PS3, Xbox360, and BDP all hooked up to your receiver via HDMI and then still just have the 1 HDMI out to your TV. Using your receivers remote can just switch between inputs, because the receiver will act as the HDMI switcher too. You don't need to have components cables hooked up. Then set the resolution of the components all set to their highest resolution. 1080p for the Xbox, PS3 and BDP, then on the cable/sat have it to 720p/1080i and you are set, I don't see why it matters to have the HD cable/sat upscaled, IMO.

Am I still missing something you are looking for??
