I didn't do the disc update when I watched it on my PS3 (it was a rental). Not sure why benji is having trouble. Did you get the 3.0 firmware update? Maybe you actually have a bad disc?

This is by far the worst blu-ray movie as far as getting it to play. I have a Panasonic DMP-BD60 and had a hell of a time getting it to play.

The way this blu-ray is made no wonder people buy dvd's.

I did the same thing, and it worked perfect.

I have the latest firmware and I've NEVER had a problem playing any other bluray. The OP had very good reason to make this thread and doesn't deserve the criticism. Lionsgate made a terrible bluray release and I had to return this movie back to Blockbuster without watching it. Bad business.

I have a Sony BDP-S300 and Crank 2 High Voltage will not play!

I have returned the disc to Target three times (two different stores) thinking that would help....no.

The Sony BDP-S300 does not have an input for a SD Card or USB stick....any advice or useful suggestions would be greatly appreciated my friends.

Can't take it back for my money or store credit because of the video piracy rules/laws once the disc is opened....more crap!

Have you posted in the BDP-S300 thread to see if anyone else has an issue with this title ?

What a bunch of work to watch a movie.

And this is one reason why Average Joes will ride off Blu-rays: They get their favorite movie ever (Crank 2) and try to play it, and it's not working right. So they think it's the disc, naturally, cause every other movie works. They exchange the disc. But they still have the problem and don't know how to fix it, because they don't think to search the Net on the issue.

Darwinian selection at work. Only the brightest humans will own Blu Ray players. The dumb ones will perish.

Watched this yesterday, on my panasonic BD-50. Had my 2 MB card installed and it is not connected to the internet. Took 3minutes to load, and played fine. Once I connect it to the internet, I'll just download the update. No biggie. But it is a major hassle for people.

Sounds like nobody should make a 2.0 profile player without memory.. lame.. stupid to require people to buy and plug in a memory card for something that should just have memory internal..

Ancient PS3's can have fan noise.. newer ones from the last 2 years or so do not make noise. Gets old seeing people post about fan noise when most do not have any noise.

some makers of these players don't have it internally but they do include the usb thumb drive or the sd card at 1gb, you just have to plug it in. of course some makers don't give you that so they can't actually call their machines profile 2.0, they can call them 2.0 ready. with that said, the studio's should always put in a yes or no at the begining if you want to load the bdlive content the same way as they always give you the choice before moving on for theatrical or extended cut options before you even get to the menu screen.

Just plug any USB jump drive into that slot and the movie works.

The disc apparently has an embedded macro that won't play the movie right until it thinks it has checked for latest firmware updates from either the cat5 cable (live connection) or the USB port. I know this sucks but fool the code and it will work.

Some good posts elsewhere on site helped me, so I thought I would post to return favor. Unf, since I had to register and all that, I can't find orig posts that helped.

Just put a blank flashdrive in the USB port and this should fix the problem?
