Default Evan Wells wants to bring Uncharted to the PSP

source: www.ps3.qj.net

We're still waiting for Uncharted 2: Among Thieves to come along, but we already know that it won't be the last for Nathan Drake and Naughty Dog. No one said anything about sticking to the PS3 all the way, though. Through an interview with the Examiner, Naughty Dog's Evan Wells reveals that Drake's next adventure could take him straight into uncharted territory - the PSP.

"We'd love to see Uncharted grow beyond the PS3," Wells said, "It would be interesting to see what sort of changes to the design one would make for a portable system." Right now, though, Naughty Dog is all hands on deck developing for the PS3, so it might be further down the road if we're going to have a portable Uncharted.

Would be interesting to see, especially the shooting mechanics (it did work well with SF games and Resistance and I think that's the best they can do with the PSP and its one analog) but I would rather them bring Jak 4 to PS3, maybe they can do both

Well,

If you watch the latest edition of pulse they show lots of gameplay and the video plays back fine on the PSP so it should be no problem.

I hope they do this so I can play Uncharted while it's slow at work!

I hope Sony makes it possible to play PSP games on the PS3. Quite a few games I'd buy aside from something like this if it were to ever happen.

Id love to have an Uncharted game for the PSP. It would be great, especially if there was an Resistance 2/Assassins Creed 2 style PS3-PSP interaction.

I'd Image a studio like Ready At Dawn (Daxter PSP), High Impact (Jak and Daxter PSP)or Sony Bend (Resistance: Retribution) will do the bulk of the work, if it ever happens.

I can't really imagine playing Uncharted without the right stick.

It'd just be another example of a game I'd be playing on my PSP going "Why am I not playing this on a real system?"

See: Crisis Core, God of War, and every other so-called Blockbuster released on PSP.

I would buy a PSP GO for a Uncharted title.

You sure never miss an opportunity to complain about this do you?

I agree that moving a franchise to a portable system(like the case of Dragon Quest 9) is a problem. But if the portable game isnt meant to replace the main console version, then whats the problem?

The problem is that it takes a year of development away from a better game.

Considering I barely ever talk about this, and the last time was months ago, it must really bother you to hear a statement like this.

My position is not irrational. I went Blu-Ray over HD DVD because I'm a tech junkie. I jumped on the PS3 the moment it released because I'm a tech junkie.

I am not anti-portable (as I just got accused elsewhere). I love portables for what they are, but I don't want them to be what they aren't. What they aren't is a device that I want to play for hours. They aren't going to blow me away visually. They are going to blow me away from a sound perspective. Without those things, they aren't going to be as good as they could be.

Games that are perfect for a portable device: Level or Mission based games with a fairly short level(Disgaea/Disgaea 2). Sports games. Rock Band Unplugged. Racing games.

In fairness, I did think Crisis Core was perfect for a portable, I just wished it was more like a traditional Final Fantasy game.
