Surprised The Ring made it to the list and The Mist is not higher. Good list so far. Romulus, great work and thanks.

Let's wait for the complete list then we can all ***** about how our films did not make it.

The Mist is at #19? Ugh, that is one of the worst horror movies I have ever seen.

Scream was 1996, not 1997. I Know What You Did Last Summer and Scream 2 were 1997.

Scream was my #1 pick. I wish it was higher on the list, obviously. Also, I really didn't like Blair Witch Project very much.

I'm also glad to see The Blair Witch Project on here. Like the Ring, it is a film that is ofter parodied and mocked but to me, it was without a doubt the best marketing job ever done for a movie. I think the film was very effective and used a lot of old-school techniques, such as mood and not seeing the "bad guy". I also think the concluding scene is among the scariest and best ever to end a horror film.

I just wanted to say thank you Romulus for taking the time to do this list. It has been fun looking at other peoples picks and trying to guess which movies would come out on top. Well done!

Must of been a typo or something Romulus, but the original Friday the 13th came out in 1980.

Hey everybody. I have never seen this.

So how does this movie compare to The Cave (2005) which I thought was just average?
They seem like very similar movies.

31. Shaun of the Dead - Never seen it and dont plan on seeing it!
30. Hellraiser - Its been along time since Ive seen this one. From what I remember it was pretty good but not top 31 worthy!
29. The Ring - Great film. I saw this twice in the theater! Plus u cant go wrong with Naomi Watts!
28. The Amityville Horror - Saw this at a very young age also. From what I remember it was pretty good as well.
27. 28 Days Later - This was pretty good but the sequel is way better and shouldve made this list instead!
26. An American Werewolf In London - Simply a classic and will soon own on blu-ray. The best werewolf film ever!
25. The Orphanage - Never seen it but may try to soon if I can get over my subtitle fear!
24. The Blair Witch Project - Never seen it and dont think I will either.
23. Event Horizon - Never seen this one but will see this soon as the hype as got my attention!
22. Let The Right One In - Read comments about movie (25)
21. Scream - This movie brought back the slasher films that were so popular in the 80's! I loved this film and definitely is an alltime great!
20. Saw - This movie may have the best twist ending Ive ever seen! Very well done and original idea! Top 20 worthy!
19. The Mist - This is a instant classic! One of the best horror films Ive seen in the last 10 years! Anything with Stephen King's name on it is a winner!
18. The Omen - See comments from movie (28)
17. The Evil Dead - I watched this film years after it came out and it was ok. I think I need to watch it again though.
16. Evil Dead 2 - Never seen this one but if I re-watch part 1 then I most likely will watch this one as well.
15. Poltergeist - This is the best horror movie of its kind! This is actually top 10 worthy!
14. The Descent - I like this movie a lot, however this is to high for this movie! Maybe it should be in the top 31 but definitely not top 15!
13. Night of the Living Dead - I tried to watch this movie a few years back and couldnt get through it. Either to old or way to slow. Just way before my time. There are a lot better zombie flicks although this is the one that got the zombie movies going!
12. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre - See comments from movie (28)
11. Friday the 13th - Now obviously this is my fav movie franchise and Jason is my fav killer of alltime............well Jason isnt in this one! This movie was decent and got the ball rollin but I prefer so many of the sequels over this. I wonder if when people made their list, if they considered sequels or just the franchise itself when they named their movie?
10. Dawn of the Dead - See comments from movie (28)
9. Psycho - See comments from movie (28)
8. The Silence of the Lambs - Never seen it but may see it in the future.
7. Jaws - See comments from movie (28)
6. A Nightmare On Elm Street - Wasnt a big Freddy fan! I liked the last one the best. Freddy is a huge icon, probably the 3rd best behind Jason & Michael!
5. The Thing - Never seen it but definitely the hype for this movie has got me and I will purchase this movie soon!
4. The Shining - A definite classic! A must see for all! Jack at his best. The movie that started the qoute "RedRum" Gotta love it!
3. Alien - Never seen this but once it hits blu I will check it out!
2. Halloween - Actually watched this again lastnight! I prefer the 2nd one (which I plan to watch tonight) but it was the birth of Michael Myers and the greatest horror music theme of alltime!
1. The Exorcist - See comments from movie (28)

All in all not a terrible list! Far different from mine. Only 8 of my 31 made the list which were: Halloween, Poltergeist, The Shining, An American Werewolf In London, Saw, Scream, The Mist, & The Ring! If I had to choose one movie from my list that didnt make the cut that is very surprising, it would have to be: Phantasm! How does this movie not make the top 31?? Oh well good lookin out Romulos! Always look forward to these contest! Got Em!!
