Almost all people from the IV-VI generation didn't like I-III but what about the new generation? Those people that have watched I-III and THEN watched IV-VI and all they had to say was 'the special effects weren't as good'. It would ruin it for the IV-VI generation like how we felt after watching I-III but might be good for the newbies. |

Interesting question about the prequels: kinda like looking a block of swiss cheese and disproprotionately wondering why one particular hole exists.
Answer: The Jedi didn't know about the Order for the same reason they could not discover, detect, sense, etc. that Palpatine was the Sith lord. Even though throughout the series, Jedi seem rather adept at 'feeling' the Force in anybody they happen to encounter, Lucas had to neuter their powers so that the Jedi council could actually be co-opted by a poorly crafted story and Hayden Christensen. |

Here's some info to add to the conversation:
http://www.starwars.com/databank/cha...ous/index.html AFTER Darth Maul was killed, Sidious brought Dooku on board, and that is when the clone army was ordered. This databank is awesome.. |

It is entirely possible that they may be unable to sense one's force adeptness if they're full-on Sith, or maybe Palpatine's higher level or special learnings allowed him to shield himself. I would say that being able to hide one's self would be a skill in high demand for a a Dark Side follower. And yeah, it's pretty obvious they realize something shady is going on, they just don't know what until it's too late. They're even openly suspicious of Palpatine but fail to consider the idea of him being a Sith Lord. |

That may have been the name he was thinking of, but he referred to Dooku and asked about Dooku's "Jedi name".
Dooku is his name. That's not the Sith title appointed to him. ps look what I found: http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Force_Concealment So yeah, Sith Lords are definitely able to conceal themselves if they take the time to learn how. |

Sith are able to cover their powers, it's one of their special abilities. Also it's good to remember that the Jedi in the movies are no longer the Jedi of old. They are decadent, too sure of themselves, Yoda make's a few remarks about that in the movies. After a 1000 years a lot of techniques and teachings have been lost to them due to lack of use and the fact that they refuse to evolve their believes. This would give a serious advantage to a Sith master and his apprentice. A thousand years without much of any challenges and enemies will make anyone lose their edge and that is where the Jedi are in the prequels. Yoda known's it, Qui Gon knew it as well.
It's always been my believe that Darth Sidious created Anakin, there is a few hints here in there in the movies. The clone army was ordered by Sifo-Dyas, it's never too clear if he was Dooku or not but in the movie Obiwan is saying he was dead for 10 years, so I doubt he could confuse Dooku and Sifo-Dyas, it's probably that Sifo-Dyas was a older Jedi that was influence by Darth Sidious to order the clones. Just to add to what others have said... No. There really aren't "Jedi names". Jedi use their birth names for the most part. The name you're referring to is Sifo-Dyas. He was an ally of Dooku's in the Jedi Order and he was the one who secretly ordered the clones when he had a vision of upcoming turmoil and war. Palpatine found out about this and ordered Dooku to murder Dyas as a test. Dooku did so and took over the development of the clones for their own purposes.
