There is NOTHING about HD DVD that inherently pro-consumer for disc copying, since right now you're violating the law by copying discs. That you can do it isn't a design choice for HD DVD, it's a failure of the protection system.

AACS was supposed to have Managed Copy which would legitimize and control the copying of discs for media servers and portable use.

The problem is, AACS has been stuck at v0.9 since launch, and the final full version 1.0, which is supposed to allow Managed Copy, has slipped and slipped and slipped. The inability for everyone to finalize AACS is the anti-consumer move here.
