If you have an Amazon account you will need to log in and go their "Communications Page". You will then have to uncheck all the new spamming lists they have attached to accounts. Go to the far right of the page and you will see another way to opt out of ALL communication except for your orders. That's the better bet as they will just add more spam lists as needed.
Thanks for the info.

Someone with a lot of time on their hand, need to write up an official letter to Amazon warning them to stop spamming bluray movie buyers with HDDVD emails and flyers. I think it's dooable...There ae over 12,000 members here with atleast half og us buying from Amazon on a regular basis or atleast once in a while. Maybe we can all somehow sign it and put out First Initial Last Name and have it mailed to their corp sales office possibly to someone higher up in the ranks than just a customer service rep.

Does that sound like a lot?

Don't worry! Amazon is sending those emails to try to get people to buy HD-DVD because no one is buying it...

The next email you'll receive will say:

Dear customer,
We are sorry to infrom you that we will no longer carry movies in HD-DVD format. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Regards,

Amazon

LMAO! That is exactly what they'll write too!

Me thinks the BDA needs to step up their promotion with Amazon pronto, cause let's face it folks, Amazon is king of the online retailers.

UPS just dropped off 5 new release BDs from Amazon today. Since they were all in separate orders they came in 5 boxes. Inside each box was this gem of a flyer:

Yup, that's the flyer. Thanks for scanning that.

Amazon used to be the king of online retailers. If they are doing all this then things are obviously not as good as they once were. I have found other online retailers who are cheaper than Amazon. They are turning into their sleezy competition. The nice thing is bookmarks on a web browser are so easy to erase.

Oh you will unless your have opted out of their spam. It just goes to show how many spamming emails they are sending out if it takes over 2 days. (Mine came the second day.)

Amazon is an HD-DVD backed site now.

Check out the deals forum there are a number of other places that sell at prices comparable to Amazon.

I'm happy to see that Amazon has finally stepped up into realzing where the proftits really are. This is the first step in a major HD-DVD marketing blitz you will see as the Holidays approach. I just hope that not too many of you have invested too much $$$ in BD.

However, until then the fanbois can continue posting reviews on Amazon giving HD-DVD titles a single star rating when they don't even own the format.

I think it's M$ because the XBOX is prominently featured. It's legal unlike Paramount, that was market manipulation involving competing companies...which is a no-no.

Yeah, sending out brochures to confirmed customers of the opposing format---that's good advertising, all right.

According to Productwars it isn't working too well... In fact it's all Blu. All that money...POOF...someone is going to lose their job over this.

When are the fake sales coming in? Isn't that the next step?
