Default Cup Holders

This may sound like a silly question but one major flaw in my newly completed basement project has a lack of cup holders. I currently use tv dinner trays but would love to have something permanent to act as a cup holder.

I have a few ideas but wondering what others have done for similar situations? Cutting into the furniture is not an option.

I was thinking of building a console or sorts to mount on the wall right next to the furniture. I would get the poker inserts for the cup holder and build around those. Small but nice looking, assuming my carpentry skills can match my idea (doubtful lol)

Is there any chance that you would be getting theater seats? They typically have cup holders. If not, you seem handy with tools from your gallery pics. May need to build out something custom that fits your specific needs.
