Just i will elaborate it in this way:

Spiderman Movies, Cars, Ratatouille , and Pirates of the Carribean at world's end , Die HARD Trilogy will end Transformers and HD-DVD definetely and forever.

THIS WHAT WILL PS3 Owners new and OLD will get sooner or later during this 4th quarter and will be a massively massacre for HD-DVD owners.

Anyway this is your decision and not mine.

HD-DVD will loose at the end and i will not buy another loosing format and i already know who is stronger than the another one.

Toshiba did this because they know ,they are loosing at the end,but the real question is how thay can still survive what will happened after transformers go to an end.To whom now they are going to pay.

If i where you and really you believe in Blu-ray and really you are enjoying your unbeatable format ,at least you will buy the dvd version and upconverted it through your PS3.

This is your decision i respect it but i'm totally against it.

well if its any consolation i wont be buying it.. and i'm going to stick to my guns and hope blue ray gets all these titles sooner rather than later.. i dont think buying the sd dvd is a great plan.. its just telling paramount there is a huge market for dvd so they wont be that bothered about the hd market...

Spider-man 3 wasn't that bad, at least not as bad as people make it sound.

Transformers wasn't THAT good either, it was fun to watch though. It had lots of special effects and it kept you going. Spider-man isn't very different.

I personally own the Trilogy and I must say that I never really thought; "what a crappy special effects this movie has". Spider-man isn't everybody's cup 'o tea, but neither is Transformers.

Overall, Spider-man will probably outsell Transformers because of the larger installed user-base. We all know titles on Blu-Ray sell better than HD DVD, why should Spider-man be any different?

Transformers had the impact of be being the first Transformers movie in almost 20 years, wheras Spiderman was the second sequel in five years. Because of that fact alone, the Transformers movie had a bigger draw.

After watching both, they were both so-so, IMO, but I liked the Transformers more since the story didn't feel as horribly rushed. On the otherhand, with all the character developments in SM3, that movie should've been around 3 hours.

I am as big a Blu-fan as the rest on this site and will not ever get any HD-DVD material. But with that being said, the first SM sucked, I hated the second, and have yet to see the third. I also loved transformers.... but not enough to ever go red or purple I hope for our sake that SM does sell more but in my opinion, it could be pretty close.

We can't let it even be close, because right now with Transformers, HDDUD has the bragging rights of the Highest selling High Def movie of all time, and Highest selling in its first day.

We can't allow them to keep this bragging right, so everyone must get Spider-man3 on Oct 30, and break their records and bragging rights. Blu will continue to outsell throughout the year with lots of big releases, but if we don't band together and get SM on Oct 30, HD DUD's will maintain their bragging rights as the highest selling in one day & first week.

I don't own any Blu equipment yet, but I'm going to buy SM on Oct 30 just for this reason. We can't let them pick up any more steam and prolong the war!

It didn't? I felt Transformers had horrible acting (Especially part where Sam runs into Barricade and talks about being followed by his car, I mean, WOW that was bad acting ) and it shouldn't have included Anthony "notsofunny" Anderson and John "humorme" Turturro. I mean Mack is one thing, but they should have left out those other gooffballs. Also, Spider-man had better romance None of it worked out in Transformers. Transformers is fun to show off your equipment, but the story was worse than Spider-man.

i think the trilogy will sell better than 3 on its own, but i honestly dont think it will outsell TF in week 1. The simpsons or Pixar stuff might, but not Spidey.

I think sony should have released SM3 first before the box set to counter the Transformers movie. Will the box set count for SM3 sales? Mine arrived this week

I think spiderman won't be as huge as transformer. If I saw amazon sales (I know, it's only amazon), transformer been in top spot for a long time.

Maybe the simpsons or pirates 3?

Spiderman 3 will have a hard time crushing Transformers' number because it is separately and sold in the trilogy box set.

I bet it will. I will want my movies to be release on a format that sells the most copies. So maybe movie studios and producers will notice the results week after week and finally realize that going Blu is not such a bad idea.
Me hoping again.

I think the boxset will hamper the single release numbers a bit.

I, honestly, don't think it has a chance of beating the 190k units sold first week (even though I'm not sure I believe how accurate that is for NA).

It was widely considered a disappointment and a far worse movie (although I enjoyed it for what it was and am buying the trilogy), but most importantly is the $44 MSRP, which means 30-40 dollars at stores (at Best buy/Target it'll be $35-40 -- that's going to cut down the potential buyers quite a bit). I think we'll, disappointingly, see less than 100k units sold and a lot of that will be SPHE's fault (and the PR won't be good).

I'll be very surprised if Spiderman 3 does more than 100k units the first week. With the trilogy I think we'll see over 100k and I think the Spiderman 3 and trilogy will post respectable numbers over time and overall... but SP3 is overpriced and wasn't as good as the rest of the movies -- those are two major strikes against it.
