I find the simplest covers to be the best ones. I agree totally. There's something more sophisticated about it. Sometimes less is more. Not to mention they could always fill the extra space with some sort of dazzly sparkle and such.

The things I'm hearing out of Disney about Dumbo is that it may not be out for a while. Disney is creating a Dumbo musical for Broadway and is now planning on having the Blu-ray release about a year or so after the opening of the musical. That's why it was pulled this year.

would be better cross-promotion to release it around the opening, not after.. crazy Disney

I always liked the BatB cover on the original 2 disc version of the Special Edition DVD, released in the UK:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/DISNEYS-BEAUTY...#ht_500wt_1035 (only can find them on ebay these days!)

I'm not so keen on the new one - like the Snow White one it looks a bit busy, and the fact that covers always have to not clash too much with the blue top of the case means that they sort of make the covers look quite blue as well... one of the reasons I've got the steelbooks. I echo calls for simplicity - the Snow White steelbook for example, just the apple with a blue background - much better than the normal cover!

Aladdin, the Little Mermaid and the Lion King have similar posters, and I wanted to create custom covers using them, but it's impossible to find them in high quality.

EDIT: nevermind, just found a high resolution version BatB, gonna start working on that
EDIT2: I lied, it's crap.

Try MovieposterDB.com. It's a great site, but you have to pay to get credits to be able to download.

Just in case you wanted to know, here's a list of all the Disney films and their aspect ratios. If you read the list it will also let you know at the bottom which ones are available and which ones are coming, and for what date.

There are supposed to be 2 diamonds per year right, with Fantasia/Fantasia 2000 supposedly being released this year in addition to BatB, but it's not been announced yet even though BatB is coming out in October. Would they really release 2 in the last quarter of the year - when releasing Platinums did they ever release 2 in such quick succession? I just can't help but thing that BatB is the only Diamond release we'll get in 2010, given its release date...

I own this teaser poster framed. It's one of the best Disney posters ever!

I recently spoke with a Disney representative on the phone about the Toy Story coupon (when Part 2 wasn't available to print). They mailed me a $10-off coupon on any Disney BD--got it today. When I was on the phone, I asked her if she knew anything about the delayed releases. To my surprise, she actually did. She explained that they delayed Dumbo until next spring (2011) because of the number of animated titles they had coming. She also stated that Fantasia / Fantasia 2000 were still coming later this year, though no firm date was available. She was expecting Nov/Dec.

Nice info I do hope they keep Fantasia in 2010 and a Nov/dec release would make sense for the Christmas shopping season.
