Did anyone notice how the human avatars had 5 fingers, but the Na'vi only 4? Guess it is just part of the mixing of human DNA. Also thought the eyes on the Na'vi may have been a bit bigger.

It was so that when their brains tried to control the hand it didn't go, "WHAT THE HELL?! THERE'S A FINGER MISSING!"

I could have put it more scientifically...but that got the point across just the same

I think that might have been the best description ever given on these forums.

Maybe the Na'vi are from The Simpsons universe

I'm pissed about the Avatar Blu-ray lacking special features and extras. At least they could've left the featurettes on the DVD there in high definition.

Yet is the main word. If we listen to Hollywood everything will be 3D, including the air we take in and they will charge us for it

I think its the public embracing 3d, so hollywood is providing. I think simpsons in 3d would be a mistake.

It's Hollywood ramming it down our throats, most often via a bad post-production 3D 'retrofit' (Alice in Wonderland and Clash of the Titans coming to mind) to try and combat piracy and make more money... the public are buying into it at the moment, but if you ask me the current fad starts with Hollywood, not a public need. I don't really like 3D but at least Avatar was filmed with it in mind as an artistic intent (and was done reasonably well) - it's massive success (which, money-wise has a lot to do with it being 3D and therefore more inflated ticket prices) will encourage them to continue... hopefully, if it has to, we'll get more 'proper' 3D films like Avatar as opposed to studio rush-jobs like Clash of the Titans.

Avatar is almost here. Wonder if I like it as much on BLU.

BTW, can't wait to see a post production 3D job for Plains, Trains and Automobiles. Heck, let's re-release everything in "3D".
