What im desperate to know is if there is any difference in bitrate between the US and EU versions. I know EU discs have suffered before to squeeze in more audio tracks (wish they would just release the US disc in the UK).

i read there were both as good, just played some scenes sems perfect, and no bug or anything with my panasonic

I've never updated my firmware before so two questions:

1) How will I know if I need to?
2) How do I do it? - any step-by-step FAQ?

Just stick your ethernet cable into the back of your blu-ray player and download the latest firmware, its simple.

Can't wait, the mailman can arrive any moment... (and luckily I've a Panasonic DMP-BD55, so it plays without a single problem, as far as I've read across the forums)

I've ordered it at Bol.com, A Dutch webshop that is normally very expensive, but because of a discount action and a code for free shipping, I could get Minority Report and Avatar together for 32 euros!

Never saw this in the theater so it'll be a blind buy for me. Hope my expectations aren't too high with all the raves I've seen in this thread. BTW, Ive never updated the firmware for my Sony player. Does updating it do anything for the quality of the picture or sound your player puts out? Or is it mostly for new features? Also, let's say there are a few firmware updates available--Would I have to download and install each one by one, or just the latest? Thanks for any advice!
