So far Avatar looks......Awesome... This is how blu-rays should look. Skip the extra crap, and give us a higher bitrate and great sound!

Almost forgot. My Avatar shipment arrived with a torn slipcover. I am not a must have slipcover on every disc kind of guy. But, seeing how it came with one already, it just bugged me to see it. I contacted Amazon customer service and they offered to refund my account $4.00. That brought my total to $15.99. This is the second shipment in 3 weeks to arrive damaged. I think the UPS people are a little careless at times.

Guys,

Can anyone check this?.... At 0:03:00 (space scene) - I think black sky is a bit brighter (upper right side) than 0:03:05 (another space scene).

Has anyone noticed this suddenly shift? It's very minor... but just want to make sure my tv is displaying correct black levels...

Just checked,it looked fine to me.It could just be mild lighting reflections from the ship or planet.

I really do not like eco cases, especially on titles as important to my collection as this one. I was going to pick it up at Target, but saw all their Blu-ray copies were in those security cases. That meant I couldn't check for eco cases. So I moved on to Best Buy and price-matched it there instead (while making sure I picked a basic case, of course).

Am I the only one who thinks Norm's avatar looks incredibly fake when compared to the other CGI in the film?

you know... this will be a blind buy for me, and as much as i love bonus material, and i know this release had NONE, i will still be buying the "special edition" in november simply because of how much technology went into making this film it will be really interesting to see / hear how it was made.

hopefully it'll have a sweet 60 minute documentary or something. i really enjoy those. and since this was a 15 year project for Cameron, i suppose it will be loaded with stories.

+1, i only like special features if its a technical movie, like 2012 or somethin. Also if im a big fan boy of the movie as well.

3.5 for movie!!!! You'd think with all the hype going on here, this would've easily gotten 5.0 on everything.

I'm glad I waited for the official review before blind buying this. I'm now encouraged to wait patiently for a price drop.
