Nothing was cut, i've watched the blu ray and seen it in cinemas back to back. Nothing has been cut, or changed (bar the audio mix was worked on some more for the blu ray).

The Transformers 2 imax forrest battle has the avatar blu ray beat. Both are overall complete reference though.

Perhaps that person saw the scene in question while attending a test screening of a rough cut of the movie?

Watched this the other night and wasn't too surprised. Sure, it looked delicious, but I wasn't jawdropped. I still found the movie boring, even more so than when I saw it in IMAX3D.

IMO......most that did not like this also did not like Zodiac. I know they are 2 different genres and styles of movies but some need more going on to enjoy.

This bizarre statement might hurt, let me get my flame retardant suit on.

There is a difference between Avatar and Transformers 2.
Avatar is a film. Transformers 2 is junkyard scrap metal.

Whats the big deal? Who cares. The movie is your average love story, just with advanced graphics that resemble a video game and a different world. Beside the new age technology, the film is the same recycled love story.

I dont agree, but I respect your opinion and its all subjective. I would say Avatar at its best beats out the IMAX Transf 2 portions. I do agree with you that both are complete reference though. The other thing is so much of Avatars running time is at or above the IMAX Transf 2 scenes (arguably) as far as PQ.........that forrest battle lasts all of what........5 minutes? In Avatar, you have the better part of its 160+minutes at a crazy high level from a PQ perspective. In light of that, the only fair comparisons are the Pixar films and IMO Avatar has even those beat out by a slight margin overall.

Actually, the person has a point. We do hear the same criticism over and over again. It does get old, but I just pretty much ignore it now because I've read it so many times.

I don't agree. I have no idea where your statement is coming from, but they're completely different movies. Zodiac is an underrated masterpiece, and Avatar is anything but.

Actually, that's all a matter of opinion since I think Avatar is a masterpiece. I haven't seen Zodiac, so I'm not bashing that movie at all, especially since I want to see it someday because of Robert Downey, Jr.

The whole point of the person's post was not directly comparing the two. It was that some people might not have liked either because they don't have a lot of things going on all the time. I don't see how Avatar could be considered boring, but some people have indeed said it. In the end, it doesn't really matter.

Correct.

I have had people tell me that 'Apocalypse Now' was boring. So in the end its all just a person's personal opinion.

BTW, concerning 'Zodiac' I did not think that I would like it, however I ended up LOVING it. And the ONLY reason that I do own it yet is because I must have watched it a few dozen times when it was on Showtime.

Thumbs up Find your code in case & use it now!!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally got around to using my code that came in the case. I went to the Avatar pgram and joined. And boy I'm so glad I did! This makes up a bit for the lack of bonus features on the disc. You need to dowload Adobe AIR to run a updated/background onto your pc. You can change the backgrd.(limited), create an avatar using your face, read interviews/see video's, all using flip screen ap, etc. , Pandorapedia tour guide, Return to Pandora..using your webcam, official site, home tree initiative, gallery, video, music & news feed. It's very cool!

Unless I'm mistaken, Revenge of the Fallen was shot on film. While Avatar was shot on HD video.
