The Mirage speakers sound great wherever I sit in my room. I only wish I'd got them when they were 65% off from vanns. I snatched up the center at that price. Living room wasn't suppose to be as elaborate as it has become. I wouldve gone with omd-28s, omd-c2 for fronts. Then omd-15s and omd-5s for surrounds. All in the rosewood finish. That's if I went all out from the start and knew of vanns sale to begin with. I like them due to the fact they sound great anywhere. Not many have them either and I love the looks on the speakers I have. I get bedroom finished after latest round of upgrades I might seek out some omd-28 towers. Good luck auditioning. I can say I'm very happy with performance of my mirage speakers.

Thumbs up Thanks ........

For your reply. I'm wondering though...How do pans from right to left or front to back (in movies)sound since the speakers create such a wide soundstage ? Are you still able to locate effects ?

Thumbs up Upgrade 2010

Since coming to this site and seeing all of the excellent setups on it , I kinda lost my focus ... But I'm all better now and am ready to get this upgrade show on the road...... First I'll add an SVS sub (probably PC12-NSD) .Then onto some serious cable management maybe even some DIY speaker cables....
Wish me luck

Good luck with your 2010 projects!

I'm hoping to finish my cable management at some point this year, also.

This cable management thing is kicking my a** . I'm finding it very hard to......

A) seperate my ac lines from my signal lines
B) organize the excess ac cable from my sources
C) find some coverings for all of the above

This sh%t is very frustrating

I wish there was someone I could pay to do this for me ugh

Amen,on finding someone(who wouldn't charge as much as a New Oppo BDP-83.)

Brent(crazyBlue)has Perfect Cable Organization.Just provide him with some transportation and beer.
Or find someone who does that for a job in your yellow pages.

Other then that,if you are on the ground floor and its not concrete.Just drill on huge hole in the floor. Then others where the speakers and other gear are located.
Have most of the cables, and all the excess under the floor.

I feel the same way...cable management is something that needs improvement in my HT, but I am just too lazy to do anything about it......that is part of the reason why I use the curtains!

Thumbs up My New Arrival

I've got some new pre-fab speaker cable arriving today for my front sound stage (pt.3 of my cable management dilemma). I'm also looking into getting some risers for my fronts (I'm not too good with tools) to align the tweeters with my ears(about 8 or 9 inches).I recently got a new sofa in the living room. Any suggestions?

Red face Another decision

At the beginning of the year I had several upgrades planned but...........
Here we go again... I planned on purchasing an SVS sub for my living room, then Oppo produced the BDP-80.....So I bought one for my office (There went half the cost of the sub). Then I started my work on the wire management quandary (Read above). I'm still battling with it. Now here's my latest dilemma...... Should I send my Oppo BDP-83 back to get the analog upgrades or will I see a bigger difference buying the sub? Eventually I'll have both done but I'm so confused

HELP!!!!!!!

Good morning Russ, Fors, Brent, Lawrence!

As much as I'd like to say go for the Oppo BDP-83SE, I agree that a sub should be first on your list. There I said it! LOL!

I agree with the general consensus, get the sub first. Great system by the way.
