More accurately, HBO doesn't always use OAR. But in the case of all six Star Wars films, they did. I have them all archived on my HD-DVR.

This has been posted before so I don't know if you have see it yet.

But it has, or pretty close to it. And in 1080p to boot. See below.

Adywan's Star Wars Revisited (10 of 13)

Now after seeing what this guy has been able to do, I would would LOVE to see Lucas totally reboot the OT, BUT provide the OTs to the general public in HD.

Can you just imagine what a reboot would look like?

I have never seen the original trilogy in Widescreen. I look forward to finally see the movie in the OAR when it arrives on Blu-ray

Yeah, that would be drool worthy.

Can you imagine what the Battle of Hoth would have been like? Something like the Battle of Kashyykk in Ep. III.

Orrrrrr...how about this?

Just imagine these following scenes involving a total reboot in 3D- 'Death Star Trench Run', 'Imperial Walkers in action on Hoth', the 'Asteroid and the 'Speeder Bike Chase' in glorious 3D?

Only the full-screen versions. I didn't know what "wide-screen" meant so I picked the version that I thought would fill the screen. Having something "full-screen" seemed a lot better than having something wide-screen

We are never going to see the unaltered, original trilogy on BD. Lucas is to calcified in his stance to allow them to be seen in 1080p.

Oh man...are you in for a treat, as a lot of cool stuff gets hidden in the pan and scan versions. I remember that when I first bought the widescreen VHS versions back in the early 90's, it was almost like watching another much better version of the movies.

Oh heck!

I thought that this was a one choice only pick type polls. My bad.

In that case...

- The Complete Star Wars Saga (All 6 Episodes with the latest and greatest visual effects and edits) This is depending on how much gets changed, and if the color and soundtrack GETS FIXED.

- The Prequel Trilogy Box Set Negatory.

- The Original Trilogy Box Set (SE...) I would buy this one, but again...it all depends on if the color and soundtrack gets FIXED, as I have Adywan's version to cover me on this.

- The Unaltered Original Trilogy Box Set Abso-positively!

- The Ultimate Box Set, including all 6 movies and all versions (SE and Unaltered) Abso-positively!

Unaltered Trilogy - remastered- for me. But i know that won't happen.

The SE were a mess.

I'd vote for Adywan's revisited version...but that will definitely never, ever happen.

Almost my exact thoughts. Only difference is that I would eventually buy the prequels (If they were released by trilogy) on down the line when the price drops significantly.

Yea, I could see me doing that also, assuming that the PQ is 'kick-ass' reference quality. Which I can't imagine it not being, but with George...who knows?

I'll take the soup-to-nuts version. That way, I can watch them whichever way the mood strikes me. Sometimes, I'm very moody

The one that is actually going to be released

The box set of all 6 films (edits and all).

If it includes the originals (99% chance that it won't), so be it, but I'll just be giving those away like I did with the DVDs.

Hmmm....so the fact that movie theaters have this really wide screen never rang a bell?

This is why the term "full screen" was such a joke. It was nothing but confusing to people to those who weren't familiar with aspect ratios. Which is why "full screen" was commonly dubbed "Foolscreen" by those in the DVD community.

I've been buying widescreen films on home media since the VHS days. Once widescreen VHS became available in more and more places, I bought them exclusively. In fact, it was the demise of widescreen VHS that made me finally upgrade to DVD. But then imagine my horror when the DVD industy started to put out fullscreen DVDs. I was like, geez, is the industry ever gonna wise up and stop with this madness?
