WOW!! Awesome concepts. Hope someone at Fox see's those. and since some are adding their input to your work. I'll throw in my 2 cents also. I think Vader should be on the ESB cover. And the original 1977 SW cover should be for SW. I think in the same light texture and fade you have done these covers that would be totally awesome. But, like I first stated. Your work is already pretty damn hott already!!

As I said, DD @448kbps is a more accurate representation of the orignal master than DTS @754kbps. |

This is one franchise that I think might see an Ultimate Set right out the box. (no pun intended) Lucas, as well as everyone that has anything to do with it, knows we, the consumer want evrything we can get our hands on and are willing to drop $200 easy to have it. So I for one will not be surprised when an Ultimate Set comes out at that price. $65 for LotR? I'll gladly hand over 2 bills for The Ultimate Star Wars Saga Set on Blu-ray.

That's an interesting and technical perspective. Are you some kind of sound engineer? You certainly seem to have a strong opinion on this but, personally, to my ears DTS has just always sounded significantly better even when I account for the volume difference. Especially on multi-layered action or sci-fi soundtracks. On my system anyway. I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way. . |

I find it very interesting that the people who did prefer the newer Star Wars over the classics are in fact pretty young and basically grew up watching those as opposed to when most here grew up watching the others.
Is it really a generation thing? I've tried watching the 1-3 many times as they are on Spike all the time, but I just can't begin to really like any of the characters in there. Especially when compared to the actors in 4-6. To me, the acting alone sets 4-6 apart in a large way. |

There really is a generation gap between the two trilogies, and I'm sue they will always be seen as separate trilogies instead of a complete saga!
It's sad!!! Quote:

The Phantom Menace B Attack of the Clones B+ Revenge of the Sith A A New Hope A Empire Stricks Back A+ Return of the Jedi A+ Like you said i kind of grew up more on the newer one because i was only 12 when Phantom Menace came out. When i saw it in theaters i thought it was a A+++ type film but i saw the original trilogy shortly after and it became my least favorite overall( but i still love it). |

Well I am kinda torn, I mean I am only 27, not old enough to have been around for the original release but old enough to remember the hype around the movies when I was very young. But I do remember vividly always being a huge fan, buying the toys, books, cards, comics, everything I could get my hands on, and the other kids at school all made fun of me because to them Star Wars was "old' already. This was the late 80's, early 90's when I was in grade school.
Then all of a sudden, and I mean all of a sudden here comes the Special Edition and now EVERYONE is a fan even those who talked trash on them. Then the younger generation started getting into them. My youngest sister, born in 89, came along after the hype had died down and so when Episode I came out she got into that because, you are not going to believe this, she loved Jar Jar Binks! Her husband, who is a year younger than she is, can't stand the originals but he likes the new ones a lot, but he is also one of those that think the Lord of the Rings is the greatest trilogy ever and can't stand Star Wars cuz it's too "geeky" he thinks. yeah a guy who has 3 WoW accounts thinks Star Wars is geeky. go figure. So yeah I think it is a generation gap. But I think it also depends on how you present the movies to the kids. Like my nephew is only 7 and he watched Episode 3 in theaters, the first one he ever watched, and his favorite of them all is the first original "Episode 4" if you will, and no I don't mean the SE, his mom is anti-DVD (and BR) and only lets them watch movies on VHS so that is what they have the originals on VHS. Then there is this 8 year old we used to babysit, her favorite, like mine, is Empire Strikes Back, and she saw the last 2 in theaters. And loves them all but the coolest part about her is she was scared of frogs and she hates Jar Jar cuz she says he is a scary and stupid frog. But when I was watching her I made sure I explained over and over how much better the originals were and her parents also were huge fans so it was pretty easy to brain wash, I mean educate her. But my other nephew, the one who is barely 3, he HATES everything about Star Wars already. Last edited by phatrat1982; 06-04-2010 at 04:17 AM. |

http://www.hemagazine.com/node/Dolby...compressed_PCM Note that high-res lossless TrueHD/DTS-MA and PCM have identical performance. Because lossless is lossless. However TrueHD does offer compatibility advantages for more types of setups (you'd be surprised how many people have their BD players hooked directly to the TV or home theaters that don't support DTS, as well as PC setups). Star Wars put Dolby Stereo on the map. Dolby EX was introduced with Phantom Menace when LucasFilm's then THX division sought to improve the sound imaging in theaters. |

![]() That's when I become a huge fan, and couldn't wait to see the Prequels! I love them all, but the Prequels are more complete, because the vision is much richer and grander. Still they all have something about them! ![]() |

Personal preference:
Episode IV A New Hope Episode III Revenge of the Sith Episode II Attack of the Clones Episode V The Empire Strikes Back Episode VI Return of the Jedi Episode I The Phantom Menace (and not because it's bad...) And yes, there is a generational gap...that was inevitable. Given that, I'm 31 and still prefer 95% of the Special Edition changes compared to the original theatrical cuts...go figure. I'm a weird Star Wars fan. |
