Giants vs. Pirates, just sat down and turned on mlb.tv to watch this one, and I see the beautiful message. THIS GAME IS IN A RAIN DELAY STAY TUNED... NOT AGAIN

I'm not mentally challenged I know quite well how bad this staff is and how inconsistent the lineups are, so I don't expect this to be fixed in 1 to maybe 3 years, but I'm happy they acknowledged the glaring failure that Trembley was.
Huh? I hadn't heard about Orioles players falling asleep during games. Maybe Griffey didn't need to retire afterall. He could have been a successful Oriole.

Considering Leo Mazzone couldn't even improve the Orioles pitching during his stint there I doubt anyone can.

I work with a lot of Pittsburgh sports fans. I always hear about the Steelers and Pens and they sport the gear of those teams on casual day but it's as though they don't even know the Pirates still have a team when it comes to baseball. Can't really blame them.

It's not like the ownership/management of the Pirates does anything to keep their fans loyal. Even low budget teams should be able to produce a playoff calibur team at least once or twice a decade. There's no excuse for 18 years without even a .500 record.

Nah it was Trembs who fell asleep, but I think based on that record they might do better sleeping

Wow, looked at their lineup and Chad Moeller was starting at catcher. I didn't even know that guy was still playing. What happened, did their four best catchers all get injured for this guy to start?

Burnett was just giving up BOMBS! I switched to hockey in like the 5th inning.

There are no good games on my MLB.TV, guess I'm off to bed.

No, there is not excuse for 18 losing seasons, but its not like it has been the same management. They are under new management right now, and they have unloaded their team over the past 2-3 years in order to stock up their farm system. Once your minor league system is rocking, you can build a team, something that they have not even attempted to do the past 18 years. Never have the Pirates unloaded their whole team before like they did last year, finally they did the rebuilding job right, and it is about to show. We have already seen some production of this rebuilding...(Andrew McCutchen Baseball America's ROTY, Garrett Jones). I can't wait until Pedro Alvarez, the #8 prospect in the nation right now, makes his debut.

Anyways, enough about my philosophy on the Pirates. The first pitch time of the game tonight was 7:05 Est. Due to the rain delay, the game ended a few minutes ago. Over five hours. We need a massive umbrella for PNC Park for the rest of this month, I don't know how I'm going to continue handling this onslaught of rain delays

Haha, well they only have 2 guys ahead of Moeller. I guess they were giving Cervelli the day off, and they're slowly working Posada back from his injury by having him DH.

He was flying around the bases a couple days ago, and in a pre-game interview yesterday, one of the reporters joked with him about it, so he reminded the reporter that he was a plus runner in the minors, and was used as a pinch runner in the '95 playoffs.

But I guess they still don't want him squatting behind the plate yet. Maybe tomorrow?

Yankees looked horrible at the plate today. Cecil's changeup was fooling most of them. Cano's hitting streak was snapped at 17 games.

With the way Jon Ely has been pitching I'd throw him into that longshot category.

Yes, that is out of character for Heyward. His number of strike outs isn't too terribly bad for a power hitter. He's still hitting .274 with a very good .402 OBP and is on pace for 31 HR/118 RBI and is in the top-10 in the NL in HR,BB,RBI,OBP and OPS. About the only way he's not ROY is if he gets injured..

Teixeira struck out 5 times today, and depending on how long this game keeps going (currently in the bottom of the 14th), he could get even more.

Another two home runs for Toronto today. I keep thinking sooner or later their torrid home run pace will go into a slump and it's just not happening. Pretty much their entire offense is based on the long ball.
