Can someone take a close-up photo of the front of the slip?

With the way some people were talking, I expected it to stand out even more than it does on my shelf. It probably helps that I have Bad Boys right next to it, which also has a slipcover of course.

Apocalypse Now's Disclosure Edition is a lot worse, and nobody complains about it anywhere near as much. or complained as much when it was released.

More people would talk about this, so more complaints about any issues people had with the Avatar release was inevitable. I have a couple of issues with the packaging, like the book being slightly hard to get into the slipbox and the flaps getting in the way from time to time when sliding the disc "trays" back into the book, but I'm still happy with the packaging. I also wish the sheet with what each disc has on it wasn't just a loose sheet, but that's even more unimportant. In the end, this release has a ton of content and the packaging has many more pros than cons, so there's nothing to keep people from getting and enjoying this set.

A little OCD on my part . There are a few scratch like marks on the bottom of my front slipcover. I was curious to see if anyone else had them.

Yep, the theatrical version of Avatar however still is his prefered version, and the edxtended cuts are just extra for the fans.

So he says, I think he just says that because he had to get the theatrical cut down to a certain length for IMAX and he wanted to make people think he liked doing it.

Smile Maybe.

I think I am going to pick this up on Saturday. If the $24.99 price holds till that long, I have a $10.00 coupon, but I cannot print the coupon until Saturday. At $14.99 plus tax, even I may have to own a copy.

Nice! I just printed a $5 coupon from BB the other day so I "could" have picked up the 3-disc set for $19.99 but since Amazon only charged me $21.40, the savings of $1.40 would be silly to go thru the whole Returning of my set.

Also, I didn't notice this earlier when I opened up everything, nor did I see it mentioned here in perusing the prior 3-5 pages; The slide out disc holder(s) don't come ALL the Way Out, they come out about 3/4 of the way, which is Plenty to get the discs in & out. That, I Do like - though not the whole sliding out cardboard disc holder thing.

Also, Jon Landau stated that Fox initially wanted to put a 2 and a half hour cap on it, because they were afraid mainstream audiences couldn't handle a film that long in 3-D.

Either way, after watching the extended version, I don't think I could ever go back to the original theatrical version again, it just feels so...naked now, for lack of a better word. I have never been a big fan of extended editions, but this is a rare exception for me.

Awesome! I walked into work today (I work at Best Buy ) and saw the display for it and I was trying to hold back, but I end up lurking the forums as work to pass the time (Because I'm the sales operator, I have a computer ) and the praise for this new cut was strong enough I bought it as I walked out the door today! Thanks guys

Damn, that's very cool Stormcrow'!! Do you have any idea if that too has the same bizarro packaging like the new 3-disc set has? (slide in/out cardboard disc holders), or just a basic 3-disc Amaray case? <---- If it Does, I might have to jump on that & sell my set...

hahahaha, that's great you can browse the site here "while you work" . I assume you paid $24.99, right? (as I've read some posts where BB had it at $29.99 & had to be shown the price either online or from Walmart/Target, etc.)

It's steelbook packaging from Korea no idea what the inside looks like but probably the same as other steelbooks that have come out before. I'd prefer an IronPack but this works, especially since it's going for about the same price as the steelbook for the first release was going for on release date.

Well I'm definitely working, I'm just trying to make time go by when it's dead lol, But I never sign in or write anything because I'm never sure if I'd get in trouble for that or not....You never know who might be watching... I definitely priced matched the website though, because that extra five bucks is lunch for a day
