And don't forget what we saw of Grace's school. Someone went trigger happy and shot up the joint.

Which is why I am glad that scene was restored for the extended cut. It really does fill in some vital info.

And yes, the company and the mercenaries they were employing were alien invaders on Pandora.

Honestly, it takes a pretty messed up point of view to believe that the Na'vi were the villains of the film.

Yes, normally we find it easier to associate with human characters. But in this case, I don't see how anyone could.

Its really charming, and at the same time funny, as you'd think Cameron included the scene due to people whining about not understanding how they float, but Jakes delivery just ends up pointing out that the explanation is totally irrelevant lol, so Cameron is poking fun at the people who want the explanation while he gives it to them

I thought that was a nice addition at how both Jake and Norm are just stopped dead in their tracks while viewing this incredible wonder of nature.

And another scene that I really loved, was Neytiri's
[Show spoiler]flyby
, which leaves me puzzled by it being left out of the theatrical version since its a fantastic shot and lasts only maybe 10 seconds.

I guess in 3D, people would have been getting dizzy and puking in the theater due the camera's circling motion of it.

Thanks for posting that as I thought that I caught something unusual about here face also. I will have to check that out again.

Yeah, there are actually several little moments added here and there that add more to Jake and Neytiri's relationship.

For example I love the scene where she becomes giddy with joy and jumps around amid all the spinning lizards at night.

But there are also moments from the deleted scenes that I wish made it in. The scene where Neytiri reveals that she "mated" with Jake actually goes on longer in the Deleted Scenes and you see how she's 100% prepared to face the consequences for what she has done. That scene adds even more weight to when Neytiri finds out what Jake has been doing.

The Extended cut is a better movie than the theatrical I think, but there is an even better movie hidden among several of the deleted scenes imo

The ONE scene that I was really hoping that would have made it, was the Quaritch taking charge scene. I wanted that one REALY BAD.

3 hours is pushing it though, so I can see why they didn't add all of the good scenes back in, love the movie even more so than before now though. We should all list our favourite deleted scenes, I can't remember mine right now but I do like the new opening a lot more than the old one.

There is absolutely NO CG error with that part.

EDIT: You ARE the first and only to say that there's an issue with her eyes on the "I Don't Even Know Your Name" scene. I just went back a page or so, and you're the same one who said it before. Well, I verified myself that it's fine.

I thought that I noticed something odd there also, but I thought that it had to do some of the CGI not being completely finished. I don't know, as will have to watch it again.

Well thats the great thing about Home Video. You can pause, take a break, watch one half and then the other half later, etc.

A long movie is much more manageable at home than at the theaters.

I also loved the re-edit of the
[Show spoiler]Mighty Beast's charge at Wainfleet's group when Eywa
was responding to Jake's plea.

A movie like Avatar is meant to be watched in one go though, it adds to the experience to see the entire story unfold instead of seeing half of the story and then finishing it later. That to me, means it's already a classic film, even if a lot of people hate it. Will check out more of the deleted scenes on Monday for sure, which is rare for me, I usually don't watch scenes that didn't make it into a movie.

Did you watch the alternate Wainfleet death in the Deleted Scenes?

Im definitely not saying it should be 4 hours, but I think theres a good ~20 minutes of Deleted Scenes that are absolutely worthy of being in a Finished Cut of the film (Hunt Festival, Dream Hunt, Quaritch taking over, just to name the main ones)

I'm not sure a 3 hour cut is short enough for IMAX limits, plus I'm not sure people would've seen it enough times to give it the enormous box office it got if it were that long. Still hate this case but since I keep it in a DVD case anyway doesn't bother me that much.

Now more people are starting to say that, but I didn't see it. I said i watched it 3 times back to back, pausing and rewinding. I caught nothing. It drove me freaking crazy. I think it's fine, but who am I to tell people what they see...

Real IMAX has a 170 minute limit.

But in reality, its actually closer to 165-167 minute limit because that runtime also includes the preview and IMAX intro video IIRC.

I have no doubt IMAX will upgrade their projectors in 2012 for the release of TITANIC 3D, since that film is 194 minutes

I agree with that, however that 'Buffalo Hunt' scene would have given them some more ammunition.

And welcome aboard.

I like the buffalo hunt scene,
[Show spoiler]it added solidarity and companionship to the tribe that you didn't really see before until Grace and Sully are forced out by the Company.

This is kinda interesting as the very first time that I watched it I thought...something is not quite right here. I thought that it was unfinished CGI, however when I watch the deleted scenes separately, I could not notice it a second time, so I just chalked it up to looking to hard. Who knows?
