It seems to only bold the titles if they're in the Top 10. The Prequel Trilogy is currently #12.

Give it a bit. It'll probably break into the Top 10 eventually.

It's slower to go up, because most people who like all 6 movies are buying the Complete Saga boxset.

I was just posting the link to the redletterreviews because I had just found out about them and thought they were incredibly spot on for revealing pretty much every single problem (a painstaking process) of the prequel trilogy.

If you enjoy the movies, good for you. A friend and I try to watch Attack of the Clones yearly to basically laugh out loud at the entire thing (we try to think of it as a comedy, like Lucas made it that bad purposefully). It's actually a great movie to watch as such. I assure you that the both of us are HUGE Star Wars nerds that could tell you about the entire Star Wars history.

Anyways, not relying on the redletterreviews; I just shared the link so everybody else could enjoy them.

The only thing the prequels did was explain why the stromtroopers couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with their blasters: they're cloned from a guy who apparently is the most over-rated bounty hunter ever. He outsources his biggest hit to someone who fails, misses multiple shots at a vulnerable Obi-Wan on Kimino, is a terrible negotiator (I want a room at the end of the galaxy and my own clone). It also clarifies why Boba Fett was killed by a blind guy and an animal that doesn't move.

Terribly disappointing.

They were cloned from Jango Fett, not Boba Fett. Boba's the over-rated one.

And there is plenty explained in the Prequels. Which is why they're better than the OT.

Pretty much. That's why I always thought it was funny people were annoyed Anakin was like that.

But he whined for stuff that was completely justified. That's why we, the audience, could connect better with him. The actor was also a bit more convincing (a bit being sarcasm).

By the time we see the stormtroopers in the originals, a lot aren't clones anymore.

However, the stormtroopers' ranks would cease to be dominated by Fett's progeny after the Battle of Kamino in 12 BBY.[1]

Among the first battles that cemented the stormtroopers' image as elite soldiers to be feared, Kashyyyk was a planet that was twice made an example of in order to showcase Imperial brutality to anyone else who contemplated defiance against the Empire. Darth Vader participated in both the first and second invasion of Kashyyyk, personally leading a contingent of clone stormtroopers to subjugate the planet's Wookiee population, as well as to hunt down fugitive members of the Jedi Order. Commander Appo, the commanding officer of the 501st Legion and one of the first stormtroopers, was slain during the Empire's first invasion of Kashyyyk.

By the time the Galactic Civil War began in earnest, Jango Fett's clones were heavily supplemented by clones based on a variety of templates around 9 BBY, followed shortly after by enlisted Humans. Thus, the Fett clones were ironically reduced to a minority status after years of virtually filling the stormtrooper ranks in its entirety. According to a stormtrooper's entry log in the 501st Journal, none of the Fett clones were ever truly able to come to terms with serving alongside recruits and different clones, all of whom were disdainfully dubbed as the "new guys." The prequels had horrible directing and writing. The characters felt fabricated rather than real.

That is pretty much what felt wrong with the prequels.

People old enough to know the film's name is Star Wars (not A New Hope) and were disappointed when their mail in Boba Fett didn't have the firing missile (as opposed to reading about it years later) are not fans of the prequels by and large. It's a pretty clear line.

The OT focused on a few characters and the struggle against the Empire.

I really loved the PT for expanding things, showing us a much larger picture of the Star Wars Universe. Seeing how things like the Senate and Jedi Order operated. Seeing the Universe "Before the Dark Times, Before the Empire". It just really expanded the Universe into a larger more fleshed out reality. Plus I thought the story was more rich and compelling also. There was a lot more going on. It just really satisfied everything I wanted.

My friend was two when Return of the Jedi came out. I was born that year. I assure you, we too dislike the prequels.

That's not true in the least. I know a lot of people who enjoy the Prequels.

And yes, most of us saw the originals in the 70's/80's. And collected the toys and such.

But you didn't get a feeling that everything was incredibly artificial in the prequel trilogy? I've heard the stories about how it was SUPPOSED to be clean and sterile because it wasn't war-torn locations like in the original trilogy, but it was still extremely unrealistic. The magic was stripped away from so many things because we were given too much to look at. I felt like Lucas was like a kid in a candy store with the run of the place, but the candy store was a bunch of yes men that could create endless CGI. I was so disappointed that he didn't create more miniatures because, let's face it, none of the CGI space scenes in the prequels came close to the realism in 2001, a film made 40 years prior.
