That's all I would be willing to buy, too.

My Rankings. I do love 'em all though:

A New Hope
The Empire Strikes Back
Revenge of the Sith
Return of the Jedi
The Phantom Menace
Attack of the Clones

Every once in a while I'll shift Sith and Jedi for the 4th rank. Depends on which one I saw last.

This is said to be the FINAL version of The Star Wars Saga, except for the 3-D versions, which are said to be exactly the same as the BD version, but in 3-D.
No additional changes will be made.

Let's see whether this turns out to be true or not.

I, for one, really hope George is giving ILM all those problematic shots to be fixed with great care, but we'll see!

I think it's safe to say that the color problems of the 2004 will have been addressed.

Let's wait and see!!!

Yes. Thanks for reminding me.

Exactly. No point in getting the laserdisc when, as it has been pointed out by disappointed fans everywhere, the DVDs are the exact same.

Does anyone besides me believe that the "Star Wars-A Musical Journey" video might be included in the special features of the BD??

I have never seen it, but as it does span across all 6 films, it would be a perfect supplement, wouldn't it!?

That's fine for the video, but what about the audio?

There were several significant problems with the previous DVDs, specifically:

1. The rear music channels were reversed in the 5.1 mix of SW:ANH. They were fine in TESB and ROTJ. Lucasfilm claimed it was "supposed to be like that". It clearly wasn't and was likely a cover-up to avoid a recall.

2. An incredibly important musical fanfare during The Battle Of Yavin (i.e. when the X-Wings swoop down towards the Death Star) was dialled out in the 5.1 mix. Strangely it's present and correct in the French lenguage version on the same disc!

I'd also like some assurance that Fox's irritating "ENGLISH-US-FORCED" message isn't going to pop up over the end of the closing credits on the movies which involve alien-language subtitles (I, II, III, IV and VI). For recent examples see Avatar and The A-Team. Horrific and entirely unnecessary.

Yeah, the prequels seem to get hammered for their flaws but hardly ever get credit for whats good about them. All the self-righteous film gurus start talking like stiff-assed critics when they discuss these. However, the originals, dare I say have their own "campiness" and suspect acting in parts of them as well.

I know the Anakin/Padme stuff is way lame and poorly done. Jar Jar is annoying and some of the plot devices are contrived and just exist to get us to the next scene or conflict. Otherwise, we get to see the lead up for what took place in EPs 4 through 6 which is exactly what prequels are supposed to do.

I just cannot get the hate for these.... cant get it.

The battles between which trilogy is better will end when people are able to view the Star Wars Saga completely fresh.

I agree I love all three trilogies(if you count the originals as a separate trilogy. I love them equally and appreacte the hard work it took to make the original trilogy.

I'll be buying the whole set because I want the extras... but if they had released the OT with the extras I would have gone for that instead.
Careful, friend. That talk in this thread is like promoting HD-DVD on Blu-ray.com. You will be literally eaten alive. The garbage acting is hailed as Shakespearean and the stories are considered "on a wider scale" the the original trilogy (in this thread).

Basically either say you love the prequel trilogy or don't post about it, I've found. In yours and my case, I'd say the latter is more appropriate and true.

People are able to watch them all right now if they want.
Once the Blu-rays are released, and more people on this forum view it completely fresh, I think this sums up the affect of what it will have on deciding the battle of what ones are "better"
