I will abide also a "classic" version of TPM that has jaja binks restored into non-existence.

Or a re-imagined sequence when the scene he gets his tongue "caught" it actually brings in his face, churns it up and gives him "two-face" like mutilation for the rest of the movie.

Lucas hate
-----------------------

I just want 3D versions of all 6 films. Id pay the man for this candy.

Nah, but I seriously would like to see a cleaned up (original edits) just clear up the OT flaws. Like mentioned, color time fixing of sabers (make them all look the same as PT) and any matte errors by todays standard.

And for the edited cuts, this time NO disruptive CGI (like the silly creature who blocks the primary characters for 3 seconds in ANH)

You know, having obsessive hate fueled rage for a fictional character isn't healthy. I worry about ya man.

And no, if you want the original versions you don't get any tweaks at all. Vader's white lightsaber and all.

You can't have it both ways. You either get the original version, warts and all, or you get the final approved version.

I hate Jar Jar Binks too, with a fiery passion that will never die and I don't think it's unhealthy at all.

Sure it is. He is a fictional character. It's not like he wronged you in some way. It's kinda silly.

I wonder which lossless audio codec they will use for the blu-ray release. I know lucasfilm has allways use dolby for their star wars dvd's and clone wars blu-rays but whould they use DTS-HD Master Audio or Dolby True HD for the saga bd box set?

With GL saying he wants only the best 4 his films? I would Hope it's an Uncompressed audio trax.

Hahahahahaha - One of the best posts Ever in this thread!!

I took a couple days off from this thread as it literally has TONS of posts per hour & to follow along if you're at work/away from a computer takes more time than I have. That, or just having a Life as well. Glad I (hopefully) missed all/most of the LOTR vs. Star Wars gibberish.

Either one works for me, as long as it's (I HOPE!!) in 7.1, though that may just be wishful thinking...

Hmmm, LPCM? That'd be killer but I'm pretty sure it'll be one or the other, of the above.

I'd definately recommend getting it, not just for these movies but for your existing BRs & dvds. A very worthy investment.

In fact, if you have space I'd suggest going for the 7.1 (especially if you have disney blus), but just for better future proofing.

(I have a 5.1 set-up, but if had the proper space I would have gone for the 7.1).
I agree 150%! 5.1 or 7.1 is definitely the way to go. Just the sound of the bass when the lightsabres swing from the sub is amazing enough, not to mention the rest of the effects. If you haven't heard Star Wars with a proper surround setup, you haven't fully experienced it. As good as the visual effects are, the sound effects are even better!
Complete Saga day 1 for me btw.

Won't happen. They haven't been restored, Lucas doesn't acknowledge those versions, etc.

Plus they won't fit on the discs anyway since they can't seamless branch them.

You're going to be sleeping a long time then, imagine those won't drop until the 3D trilogies hit.

In other words, after they pry the movie rights from George's cold dead hands, yes.

Please. We all know he's really Darth Plagueis: The Wise. And has total control of his midi-chlorians.

So unless he takes an ambitious apprentice, Lord Lucas will live forever.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Lucas we know of today is the result of a cloning experiment gone horribly awry. The original human Lucas with real human brainwaves has been long dead, and the imposter that Beast worships at the alter for has brain defects. What else can logically explain shit like Jar Jar and YIPPPPEEEEEEE!

They don't need to fit on the discs in this worthless set. Release them separately and I'll send Lucas a love letter. I will forgive him for all his transgressions against humanity. I will forgive him for being the driving force behind starvation and poverty. Water under the bridge.

I don't see why it couldn't be seamlessly branched. If the changed scene is 4:13 long, then just take 15 or so seconds either side of it. Take the Han shooting scene for example. You could cut that entire part, from before it even shows them on screen, to after that entire scene. You choose SE, "Greedo shoots first" scene is inserted. You choose the right way, Han shoots. There is always a way. Just make the branching longer. A few extra seconds on either side of the branching wouldn't be hard to do, or take up too much extra room. Just depends on where you flag for the edit.

Same could go for LotR EE's, with the different score. Edit around the score, not just around the scene.

Unless I'm totally wrong in my understanding of how seamless branching works!
