I don't know what those are, but I have the OT DVD set that was first released, whichever one that one is. I recall it being from a commentary, likely ANH, but it's been years since I watched it. I know you guys are demanding definitive proof, links, quotes, yada yada yada, and for some reason you deem it necessary to attack my recollection, but I'm surely not going to go researching it just to prove a point. Don't care that much.

I know it's really unlikely, but it would be pretty cool if they included the holiday special in the special features. I know it's supposed to be awful but it is a part of the Star Wars saga. If an official release ever happens this could be it.

I'm pretty sure it was on Empire of Dreams. I remember this being discussed too, but I distinctly remember Mark Hamil on camera discussing how specific Lucas was that he use two hands for the duel with Vader. So thinking back, the only documentary that Hamil would have appeared on would've been for the OT, right?

Sounds right to me. It goes from jedi having to use 2 hands to hold the light saber in the OT to jedi in the PT could fling it around like a wifel ball bat, just shows me that Lucas didn't think it all the way through. Again I'm a big star wars fan but I just wish Lucas would of thought things out better.

Nice! I have the movies but it's always nice to be able to bring up one of your favorite moments instantly...

Favorite battle: Luke vs. Vader in the Death Star throne room... I'll never forget the feeling I had as a kid when Vader helped his son by finally killing the Emperor.

When debating a contentious point and making a claims of evidence, one doesn't expect to get called for a citation? Inconceivable!

How big of a fan that you're either forgetting or neglecting to mention Luke waving it around in ANH with one hand in Ben's hut. And Vader and Luke using with various one handed-use in TESB. And Vader obviously only used one hand to throw it at Luke and cut the catwalk in RotJ...

Same here. I hope we eventually get it uncut (Luke rolling his lightsaber over to Vader). My single favorite sequence in every Star Wars movie is Vader's moment of truth where he looks at Luke, looks at the Emperor, looks back at Luke... and you can almost here him say "f' it" , then picks up the Emperor.

The problem is that GL changes things with the prevailing winds. He says one thing one day, something different the next, then does something completely different from both... Then changes that the next time around.

I don't think it's really about Lucas not thinking it through. Vader uses only one hand quite a bit throughout his duel with Luke. But Luke doesn't get the same training with dueling as the Jedi in the PT got, so his fighting style is different.

Come on get real in rotj he had to use his whole body to throw it at Luke like that. I. AND Luke was just holding it not flinging it around like there was no weight to it. Never question my love for star wars I have seen it more in the theaters when it first game out in the 70's than I have on dvd vhs combined. I'm just saying that Lucas made major mistakes in the PT that do not fit with the OT at least I'm man enough to see it.

Vader can hold a grown man off the ground by his throat with one hand. I don't think wielding or throwing a lightsaber is going to be any kind of a problem for him.

While true, that scene never fit for me. Looking at everything else he does in the saga, physically picking up someone by their throat just isn't Vader. I guess that's one difficult aspect of having the first film set in the middle of the story. GL had to develop characters that should have already developed. Vader was a "new" character that was half way through his story.
