The covers look fantastic.

Plenty of detail to look at, yet from a distance it looks simplistic.

Artstyle is excellent, and the covers look very classy.

Much better than the crap dvd covers.

I think a lot of members are forgetting the different attributes that will affect the final look of the cover art.

For a start, these are low-res images and therefore the level of detail is very limited. They may look 'Photoshopped', but since the compositions consist of sources that have been painted (or have achieved a look that is very close), seeing it them in hi-res will be a whole different ball game.

Secondly, if these are slip covers, they're bound to be embossed and that will affect the texture of the surface.

Thirdly, we don't know how these artworks going to be packaged. For example the Prequel Trilogy and Original Trilogy 'art' as we have seen them may not even be visible from the outer packaging - their could be a basic slip over them, whilst the artwork we have seen is part of the inner DigiPack.

I thought BD disks were unscratchable ?

Why would you worry about scratching them? Don't they have incredible scratch resistant surface that is incredibly hard to scratch?

I surely hope that Lucasfilm improves these images or that enough fans complain about the artwork so that they change it. I want to see the "heroes" on the cover of the OT.

Still holding off my pre-order until I know what's been changed/tweaked with regards to the transfers. I really hope for the OT it's not the 2004 transfer with messed up lightsabers.

Need a new trailer to show off the transfers damnit!

Well, whatever the packaging eventually turns out to look like, I'll likely be doing my own custom artwork anyway. Unless some company starts making a 9-disc Blu-Ray case before September, then I'll probably wind up doing 3 covers, each for a 3-disc case: one for each trilogy, and one for the bonus material. I may also do one for the six film discs, too.

If they have that cheap ass packaging, I will not be buying this release.

Agreed! Mark Hamill would have been the perfect choice of the three, though I wonder if he is in George's doghouse..

While I would certainly appreciate better looking packaging, there is absolutely no way I will not be purchasing this due to the packaging.

Unless they've changed the BD manufacturing process then they should.

I wish my discs from The Wire complete boxset were so tough.

I haven't read the thread since the announcement, but I'll still give my thoughts.

I might (emphasis on "might") be the only one disappointed to not hear of any alterations to the Saga. I'm sure that we'll find out sooner or later, but being the day we were hearing about all the bonus features, I was surprised to see nothing about what will be changed.

I assume we won't find out until release date.

Have no fear, custom cover art is here! Any TRUE Star Wars fans are more than welcome to download this for their cover.

First reaction...I can't believe the cover for the complete set.

One bad-ass cool Yoda cover. One bad-ass cool Vader cover.

And the lame-o Complete Set cover.

Really??!!

Using the #2 most despised character in the series, who only appeared in one movie, standing there with a ghost of #3 most despised character? In a little slave shanty town?

It's a good thing I don't care THAT much about packaging. But man...with all the great and iconic Star Wars imagry, they make a crappy prequel-based only one?

Blech.

I think the Saga artwork is the most beautiful blu-ray cover I've ever seen. Minimalist, classy and no floating heads.
