One thing though: Temuera Morrison is from New Zealand. Kiwis have very different accents from us (Aussies). Plus, generally they don't like being told they're Aussies.
Whoops! Sorry Kiwis and Aussies!

You guys both have fantastic accents by the way. I always just wondered why in AotC they gave Jango/Boba Fett the accent when it would have been so easy to just have something similar to what was in the OT.

Probably because Temuera Morrison actually has that accent. And he was the best actor for the role.

Can you Star Wars experts inform me of what (in your opinion) is the best out there (video/audio) transfer of the UOT available on dvd ("unofficial")? Since it looks like it's not coming on blu ray for quite a while...and it would be nice to have both and have a head start knowing what looks/sounds best.

The UOT trilogy is available in 3 forms that I know of: VHS, Laserdisc, and DVD. The ones on the DVDs are windowboxed because they come from the Laserdiscs released years earlier. Honestly, they look rather poor. Compression is everywhere and there is dirt all over the print, but it's the only way that we are probably going to get the UOT in the near future.

Boba Fett sounded more like a bad a** with the original voice though. IMHO but its not that big of a deal.

The negatives were restored before adding all the CGI crap, obviously, so there's no excuse for not having the original cuts, restored and everything.

So without swimming through all 700+ pages of this thread. Do we know if there are going to be any further changes/improvments made to any of the 6 films in this release BESIDES CGI Yoda in Episode 1??

So far nothing else has been revealed other than the cover art and that the audio will be 6.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

I love the old voice! Also it makes no sense. Wouldn't all stormtroopers have this voice then?

Not all stormtroopers are clones, ordinary civilians could also apply for military service.

In Episode III the officers on the bridge at the end of the movie aren´t clones either

Everything will be re-done.

- All the model effects from the first three movies will be change to CGI
- All Stormtroopers will be turn red, cause white was never the color they were suppose to be
- Jar Jar will be place in key strategic scenes in all three original movies
- Yoda in Empire & Return will be CGI
- Alec Guiness will be replace by a CGI older Ewan McGregor
- Hayden Christensen face will now be seen in Return when Luke remove Vader's helmet
- Disco Star Wars will be the background music in the cantina scene
- All Ewoks will be replace by CGI characters

there might be others but Lucas want's to surprise the fans.

PS = I was kidding

Though it wouldn't surprise me if Lucas would make these sorts of changes given his history.

Will Lucas improve the aim of people shooting at each other?

The excuse is that they restored only what they needed but I agree with you that it is a weak excuse since in a lot of cases, scenes were not totally redone in cgi - only added to. In a case like that, the original should have been restored entirely since you need that base to begin with. But again, doesn't really matter. Lucas does not feel those versions properly convey his vision so he will not be releasing them again. Maybe instead of calling them "The Original Trilogy", we need to start calling them workprints (highly successful workprints).

Not really, since why would the Empire fall apart with the Emperor being destroyed? There have got to be generals somewhere who wouldn't mind stepping in the Emperor's footsteps. The original felt more appropriate, since there was no indication of the entire Empire being swept away. It was a huge defeat, yes, but not the end at all.

Those are actually pretty good ideas.

Old Obi-wan is simply too damned old for there to have only been 18-20 years between Ep 3 and 4. The CGI scenes at Yavin are far superior to the rest. And yeah, the Muppet needs to be at least augmented with CGI, if not be replaced.

I don't agree here. I also didn't like the voice work that Oz did originally. Too comical and you could hear too much Grover in it.

The Emperor kept the Empire together, without him it collapsed. In ROTJ, why else would the Empire fleet be gone by the time the Falcon leaves the Death Star?

They had vastly superior numbers

Or George got lazy and just forget about that massive fleet that could easily destroy the Rebels
