Yeah! I just recently read about the sandstorm sequence in 365 Days of SW by John Knoll!

This is going to be grand!

So far, everyone who has seen bits of the PQ has been raving about it.
I wonder if they were told to do so, or if they really liked what they saw!?
Damn it, I've become terribly suspicious!

EDIT: Well, this pretty much proves that the Luke constructing his lightsaber scene hasn't been put back into the movie.
I can live with it, but it would have been cool IMO.

I like the way he constructed his lightsaber in Shadows of the Empire better, but yeah its great to finally get to see many of these deleted scenes.

AWESOME!!!! It is so great to finally be able to see some of these scenes! I can't believe I'm sitting here actually seeing footage from the original trilogy that I've never seen before!

[Show spoiler] really, why? This isn't a cheapo set. This isn't some dollar store DVD. This is a $90 (on sale) movie box set! So why skimp on the damn cases?!

I know Blu-Rays are scratch resistant, but the issue I have with these cases is that the discs fall out easily. I have the four Futurama films that were released on DVD in cardboard cases. Every single one of those discs either falls out or gets loose. A cardboard sleeve simply can't hold a disc as well as a case.

This is almost like an insult, why not give us little slim Blu-Ray cases? That would work well to protect the disc and keep it from moving around. I'll be very disappointed if we end up without any actual cases, especially for the price paid. If this is part of Fox's Carbon Neutral thing they picked the wrong movie release to mess with. *sigh* And what's with the disc cover art too? I mean okay maybe none of this is final yet. But somebody better start releasing some information. Because this is just getting silly...

I much much more prefer the US edition, I am ok with cardboard cases, it looks more solid and nicer and I not facing any scratching issue on such design packaging.

I handle my discs fine. No need to be condescending. Any blu-rays that I've gotten scratched were scratched when i bought them. Since I mentioned the first season of Lost, that particular packaging doesn't hold the discs very tightly, so one of the discs was loose both times that it was sent to me.
But back to the Star Wars package, if the surface that the discs are on is smooth, then there's not much reason to be concerned about scratching these discs.

Yeah, I'll be hanging around here to hear all the outrage as well. These films are so 'effed up by this point, that it'll be hilarious to hear more and more complaints about them. With so many versions now, we're all going to be split into a few dozen factions instead of just the two.

By the time my grandchildren are born, I expect the SW saga to be completely unrecognizable. What an absolutely ridiculous mess.

By that time, I expect it to be merged somehow with LOTR...one big mess to rule them all

I think people are confusing scuffs with scratches. For DVDs, like my Sopranos complete set, this type of packaging is cause for concern. But for BDs, like Alien and Rome, the most this type of packaging could do is scuff the disc (and that's not been a problem for me), and those scuffs can wipe right off.

I know, the comment I responded to thought they were separate slim-cases, which would fall out if there wasn't a top and bottom (and a second sleeve wouldn't be needed). It's just at first glance some people have thought the UK set has separate cases instead of a Digistack.

As you said the Digistack is glued to the cardboard spine making a book-like case.

Awesome, thanks! A lot of those deleted scenes are available on the YouTube fan-made documentaries, which I highly recommend for anyone who loves Star Wars. The one for ANH is the best documentary I've ever seen, and it contains the entire, extended meeting between Luke and Biggs at the beginning. Very strange stuff.

Wait, so some of you actually want deleted scenes added to the movies?? What happened to the whole 'unaltered' argument some of you had?!?!

Just pre-ordered with Amazon and should have it on release day. I'm cost-conscious, so I figure it's nice to save a few bucks in tax and I got free 2-day shipping. Fortunately, I don't care about what disc art looks like or what sort of packaging my BDs come in since they have 0 to do with my enjoyment of the movies. If I want art I'll buy art.

Can't wait to get it; I'm sure my daughter and I will make a weekend out of it (though I still don't let her watch ROTS).
