Question about the new trailer, concerning the Walkers scene on Hoth. In the video below, at 1:30 it's supposed to be the same scene.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWjj8...ature=youtu.be

Why does the trailer only have 2 AT-AT's while the original scene has 3?

Do you think these opinions represent a minority view? I enjoy the OT but I give credit to more people than just Lucas. I believe what he's done to the OT over the years with all the changes has been excessive. He'll never be satisfied and the new home video releases will keep coming. The fans who accept everything he puts out and every change he makes enable him to continue defiling, yes defiling, the originals. He's not hurting me or making my life worse, but I'm disappointed at the obvious subpar efforts to give fans what they deserve, in terms of picture quality AND omitting key documentaries. Double dip?

How can anyone look at these screenshots from the official trailer and not think, "Hey, those colors are off?" Why do you all accept mediocrity? Why do you think it's abnormal or wrong for people to question the changes and ask for the original versions of these movies to exist alongside the updated ones.

Looking forward to the blu-ray release on September 16th. I liked the trailer and despite what some on here and on other forums have said about the transfers the blu-rays are going to be awesome when they come out. Complain about it all you want but come September I'm going to enjoy this box set. It's star wars after all.

Uggh, why isn't the American version the same as the International version? The disc art is so much better, or at least existent, and they come in individual cases, as opposed to slide-in/out storybook casing, which makes me worry about scratches.
what do you mean individual cases? are there pictures?

If I was discussing lightsaber colors (off topic) I would have been suspended again.

After this set is released my life will be complete. With all the problems the movies have (because they are 30 years) old. I will still love the films. Fanboys these days are spoiled and want everything their way. As a kid watching these movies at the theaters we didn't have the internet to complain all day long and we just accepted the errors in the movies as they were. We understood, even as children that these were just scifi/fantasy movies and NOT real. It was a way to escape and have a good time.

I am so happy about the deleted scenes. I've never seen them before! I have already bought the set, so nothing anyone on the internet posts about it is changing my point of view, as it shouldn't.

I find it interesting that most of you want this movies to be perfect...like a totally new movie...and you compare it to a NEW film..you just can't do that. the movies are old...the colors will always be off somehow with that 70's look/ style. I guess we should also change luke's hair so it doesn't look so 70s? To fit todays hair style? Oye VEY.

I have absolutely no problem with the updates, the colors, the CGI, Jar Jar. You know why? because i'm a real fan. I'm mature and I can appreciate a good director. All of the six movies. I love TPM yes. I do.
The release of this set is a godsend. I thank Lucas and I admire his work. He's like a father to me. He always has and will be.

Great post! I personaly cannot wait to see/hear my favorite 6 movies in hi-def. I love Jar Jar and the Ewoks just as much as fanboys living in their parents' basements love Boba Fett and the UOT.

The "true fan" argument again. Darn those fake fans! I really would like to get ahold of these ByLaws though. I want to make sure I don't deviate from the strict rules of Star Wars fandom and have my membership revoked.

Ah, but have you really thought that through (and being the internet and things being taken out of context: THIS IS ALL IN JEST!):

Would he still be as happy with how you turned out as he was when he originally made you? Would he find he couldn't look at you any more because you remind him of a time when his skills weren't as honed as they are today? Would he want to add CG enhancements to you in order to bring you into line with what his original vision was.

Seriously though - yes, Lucas has given us Star Wars which is great. Just because he's done that does not mean that everyone must be 100% happy with the creative decisions behind it (whether they be original decisions or retroactive ones). No one is less of a fan or not a "real fan" (whatever that means) because there is an aspect of Star Wars or its presentation that they disagree with.

The notion of "YOU MUST LOVE EVERY BIT OF STAR WARS TO BE A TRUE FAN!!!!" is just as abhorrent to me as the notion that anyone liking any Star Wars made after the 80's isn't a true fan or lacks good taste in films. Like all film series there will be aspects people don't like and that will also be true of they way they are released. Blind faith that you must accept everything as 100% perfect is no more productive than making mountains out of molehills. At the end of the day most people will fall somewhere in between. Everyone else on the extremes won't change their opinions because someone in a forum said something.

As for the release, yes it looks promising that at least some improvements have been made to address issues with the 2004 release. Will that make it a perfect release for all? Absolutely not. Until it's actually released who knows what will be the positives and negatives. It's all mostly speculation as everything we've seen or heard has been so minuscule that what we're actually informed about is very little at the moment.

I'm sure reviews will start popping up within the next fortnight and that's when we'll really get a good sense of how sweeping the changes are and whether they are to the improvement or detriment of the films. Until then we can all talk about the grain structure lacking in the highly compressed YouTube trailer and other such minutiae.
