My editing program at home makes a pretty good job of making SD look HD and even more so when you chuck it up on You tube. The videos we are seeing could be BD footage, but being on youtube throws doubt in my mind. They could get away with it for marketing. The great unwashed have probably, and will probably never see any of this footage and still buy the product in droves. It is only the geeks and nerds of the star wars community such as ourselves who are spending our days trawling the internet for the next little tidbit of information. Lucasfilm knows this, and is probably toying with us to keep the debate alive knowing full well we will all be there day one, cash in hand to be slapped in the face if needs be again. The majority of sales will take place when this product is advertised in the break on the next series of 'X Factor', broadcast in SD to the general public who wouldn't know the difference anyway. Thats where the marketing budget will be, in the week of release. I preordered the complete saga back in the new year, and despite evidence this is looking poor, am still looking forward to getting it faults and all

Now comic con et al are a different matter, but to get any comments on that from informed people in the know is nigh on impossible, and they only showed a looped reel that happened to not have any of the contentious transfer issues present. A good tatic some would say to prevent letting the shoddy job out of the bag to prevent sales being impacted, or is it just they did not have the footage available and were given select cuts?

This could go round in circles for ages, thank the maker I only have to wait 25 days for the answer!

Nothing, and I mean nothing beats a good conspiracy theory to give you a blinding headache
What gives you the impression that these will be bad??
One should not jump the gun.
What if the UOT is released on Blu would anyone still complain about quailty?

LOL, I am sure they won't be, I was being pedantic. I am not too bothered about colour mistakes or other flaws that can be seen only by pausing the film frame by frame. I AM bothered by the special edition changes such as Han shooting first, the ridiculous Jabba scene, bloomin' robots flying around everywhere and stuffin' Rontos at everyones front door in Tatooine but nothing will change on that front.

I LOVE Star Wars, warts and all, as it reminds me of being a kid, when things were more fun and life wasn't so full of the daily grind. The films take me back there, and for that I will always be grateful even if they aren't completely the films I remember.

On another note, has anyone seen the Hasbro Legacy Edition Millenium Falcon? Damn, if I has that as a kid, I don't think I would have EVER left the house. Toys today are so good. My kids are sooooo lucky.

I don't think any of that will ever change. Whatever Lucas's final vision is for these movies we may never know. It may be that these will be his final versions. I also have come to accept the changes that have been done TOOK ME AWHILE.

Go to 2:22 on this one to see the party trick. Honestly, can it be any better?

Ģ200 in the UK but luckily in the states at Christmas so should be able to pick one up for $190. Getting it back is going to be fun, and yes, I AM PLAYING WITH IT

Cannot wait to see and hear the escape from Mos Eisley, the Escape from Hoth and the approach to Yavin of the best starship ever in HD and 6.1 DTS. The Death Star run in Jedi......damn just pee'd my pants

Big Millenium Falcon?

What happens at 1000 pages, will the forum explode as the number tags seems to only accomodate 3 numbers?

Seriously, beside the original (Parisian?) dub we know and love, did they made another one? The dub on the 2004 DVDs is the right one imho.

Enough with Yves Corbeil, dubing studios! He's everywhere, including the Arnold's voice in the late Terminator's movies!

If this set Blu Ray set contained 'Empire of Dreams', I bet people would be angry that LFL was double-dipping, and selling us the same extras twice, or complaining that they are wasting space in the set by including extras we've all seen already.

Everyone will see something in this set that is either missing or redundant, and it's simply due to the fact that Star Wars fans have been spoiled with so many extras and documentaries over the years.

Exactly look at all those complains about Lord of the Rings...

Except I do tend to lean towards the give me more not less viewpoint so yeah any extra feature left off is disapointing but I was never going to get rid of my DVD's anyways so that was never an issue for me personally. I also have no problem dusting of the Laser Disc player from time to time so again no problem there either. The only real issue is the VHS only stuff that is a problem because 1, believe it or not VCR's are getting harder to find, well quality VCR's I look down on those garbage combo units, anyways the other reasons is obviously VHS is low quality anyways.

Not for certain, but pictures of the back of a european release indicated that was region free, and the assumption is that as the Alien boxset was and both come from Fox, this will be too.
