XXX and Stealth. I know they are both early Blu-ray releases, but I came away disappointed with the PQ.

to each his own..a lot of people liked the lookout..including critics..it was a blind buy for me also..and I loved it.

Just watched that movie and it sucks. Could not care what the PQ and AQ are. The acting and the story are as bad as I have ever been seen. Avoid this movie at all costs.

Did anyone write that Crash was the worst transfer to BD so far? This is my pick hands down. It looks no different than the DVD. I feel I totally wasted my money on this movie.

Troy, Dracula, and Superbad were my most disappointing buys.

I stopped buying Warner titles since it's just an HD DVD in a blu wrapper but a lot of people said the PQ was awesome. Needless to say, I was disappointed that it was another Warner smoothie. It certainly looked good but not Disney/Sony good.

Dracula was a blind buy and I knew the PQ wasn't going to be awesome but the movie wasn't what I was expecting. It had too much of an old movie feel for my tastes but I can see why a lot of people like it.

Superbad seemed to have a lot of things that could have been funny but the timing was off. It also seemed like it was supposed to be a drama at times and then a comedy. I was expecting something along the lines of Clerks, Waiting, Grandmas Boy, 40 YOV, etc.. but it just didn't click for me.

When you were ready to make those purchases, you had the money. Therefore that gave you the power. Nobody told you to blind buy.

I think personally that the worst one I have purchased so far was Nation Lampoons Christmas Vacation.

This was a great movie (that's why I bought it) but they transfer looked like an upscaled DVD. I was very disappointed as I thought they would have at least put some effort in because it was Blu.

But since then I make sure to check and see what the PQ is like, and up to a 'decent' standard. So all in all it was a learning experience.

Pred...

Planet of the Apes looks almost identical to DVD version except some bright scenes which looks nicer other than that it look exactly the same as DVD version. I rented it though. I'm glad I didn't buy it.

The video quality on House of Flying Daggers and the audio quality on The Last Samurai (my only BD without lossless).

Finding Neverland bored me to death. Therefore, I turned it off before it even got halfway through the movie!

I mentioned Big Fish before.

Also, I regret blind buying Surf's Up. The animation and sound are excellent, though it's not my favorite movie. The one redeeming factor is the two animated shorts (both in full 1080p) that are both visually impressive and funny. If I have people over and only have a short time to demo my system, I will show them those.

I actually thought that all three movies looked pretty good. Go figure.

The Warriors is absolutely amazing on Blu-ray. I rented it on Blu-ray about 4-5 months ago and I was absolutely blown away by it's picture quality, so ever since Paramount split from the Blu-ray camp, I've been kicking myself for not picking it up before they disappeared. Well, to my astonishment I found a copy of it at a local Best Buy a few weeks back and of course I snatched that sucker in a heartbeat. I'd wholeheartedly recommend this flick to anyone, especially with it's modern graphical update courtesy of director Walter Hill.

Waiting..., found it on a BOGO, and thought it was funny but no worth it on Blu-ray. Ill probably give it to one of my friends as a starter movie

This is the only title I've said immediately after watching, it's a waste of $30. Every other movie has had value. Not this one. $5 at most. If Pixar had not put that crazy annoying music in the menus, maybe it would be a $8 value. Maybe.

The other was Payback Straight Up. Don't like it at all. Give me the regular version. Hate the Straight Up crap. But at least it was more enjoyable than Pixar.

Stealth is horrid. Not a great transfer and the director should be drawn and quartered for putting that garbage together.

Oceans 13? Didnt' buy it. I saw Oceans 12 and it sucked so much I felt like I was watching an Oreck infomercial.

The Fugitive is just a bad transfer. I got it as part of a "best of" set during a bogo so I'm not out much money but if you have the SD version, the up-convert should be as good.

The Fountain, sorry I don't do the kind of drugs you'd need to enjoy that flick.

As far as this is the 830 millionth tread on this today crowd, well maybe overkill but I must admit, I've saved a lot of money after reading threads of this nature because now I don't own Robocop or Terminator or Planet of the Apes which I would have been inclined to purchase.
