Yeah, Luke's saber still looks "off" in my opinion. I mean, this is supposed to be the same exact weapon that Anakin used against Obi-Wan on Mustafar, twenty years before the events of "A New Hope". There's no reason for it to consistently change color, from a story standpoint. I really hope this newly-released shot isn't the final version.

Plus, it costs less money to convert your lossless LPCM mixes to DTS-HD MA, since DTS, Inc. charges less money and takes less time to do the conversion than Dolby Laboratories does for Dolby TrueHD.

I just bought a 60 inches Panasonic Viera Plasma HDTV to go along with my 7.1 Pioneer Elite sound system setup.

Star Wars and The Crow blu-ray better look gorgeos. Fingers crossed.

The key phrase for this release has been consistency. Consistency across all films in the saga so I think we can hope for a match to the PT in the final version.

Nah it will look garbage - you should've opted for a better set-up.

Not true. If they made the lightsabers consistent across the films it would have pleased A LOT of people. It's not like it's that difficult. Teenagers do lightsaber effects on their home computers all the time. Why is this so difficult for Lucasfilm?

With that said, I am still excited about the release even though we all know the real improvements, like lightsabers, will be updated for the upcoming 3D releases.

To me, those two pictures look exactly the same, except for the lightsaber. From what I've heard, these are not DVD/Blu-ray comparisons, they are just a reasonal facsimile of the changes that have been made, so the color difference could be much better on the actual blu-ray, or much worse.

I tend to think/hope that everything will look much better than what we are seeing in these pseudo-screenshots.

I'd say with that set-up you already have hit the jackpot...

But some people will still be displeased.

It's hilarious how many complaints and criticisms there are about something that nobody here has actually seen yet.

Honestly? You are not going to view the movies as a whole??

Besides, wait till you get it in your hands anyway, you may like what you see!

Nothing to do with you, but on a side note; Spielberg is the greatest director of the blockbuster era. Not to mention he directed 4 of the most important movies ever made (Schindler's List, Saving Private Ryan, E.T. and Jaws). Plus he is a pretty darned good producer too.
I would have to argue that. E.T is lovely, but far from IMPORTANT.

"The Thin Red Line" is about a billion times better and more impactful than
"Saving Private Ryan". "Jaws" made sharks seem like killing machines, when in fact people slaughter about 10.000 sharks a year, whereas sharks only attack around 7 people annually, and that by accident, so he made a HUGE mistake IMO, and is indirectly responsible for a lot of deaths of those amazing creatures.
I haven't seen Schindler's List in ages, so I can't say anything about that.

Wow! Thanks! This is looking more and more promising!!!

I never noticed the Fode and Beed issue in TPM.

Had any of you ever noticed that?

Also the cut off starfield was never spotted by me, but then again, I only saw the OT DVDs on crappy TVs in Vietnam, and I have been waiting for the BDs anyway.

They just edited what they said has changed, mostly just to show that it has changed for the Blu-Rays, but you'll have to buy them to see them
I believe this is the case. All the screengrabs we've seen so far haven't been from the blu's themselves. This was even stated by Adam over at HTF, so I'd assume that the shot of Luke's lightsaber on the Falcon isn't from the blu either.

How about looking at the shadow details??? Vastly improved if you ask me, which you didn't, but anyways...

Seriously, it's not even stated that this a BD screenshot, so let's chill out, and discuss what we know: That they have addressed a lot of issues, even ones that hadn't even been picked up by "fans"....

I guess you never saw Avatar or any Transformers movie! They look awesome. Not a big Avatar fan but I will give credit to the Video quality of the movie. Making that statement is bold. I think it also looks great, but the best ever

Wow, that HDTV shot of Grievous' eyes makes me think ILM deserves the 2005 Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

You know, I was planning on watching the DVDs one more time to review them so when the Blu Rays come I could spot the slightest of changes. But getting all this information about the corrections, fixes, and whatnot, I'm starting to think twice about doing that...especially Episode I with the digital Yoda. I can't go back to the puppet after seeing that clip!

They should've gotten the Academy Award for best visual effects for Episode III. It was a damn crime that they weren't even nominated. Still, to this day, pisses me off!
