If I may offer a fourth option...

Can I block posts, emails and messages from specific users?

If there are particular members that bother you and you do not want to see their posts or receive Private Messages and Emails from them, then you can add these members to your 'Ignore List'. There are several ways to do this:

Through your User Control Panel: User CP, Settings & Options, Edit Ignore List. Then, type their name into the empty text box and click 'Okay'.

Probably sarcastic. However, in one interview for the 97 SEs, Lucas did say his intention was always for Greedo to shoot first, but they were in such a rush during reshoots and they finally edited the sequence with what they were left with. Then over the years he claimed to have gotten complaint letters about the scene and that a hero should never shoot first. So he went back and "clarified" the sequence.

I really don't care who shot first, it just looks so bad in the 97SE and only slightly (ever so slightly better) in the 2004 DVD release. Still looks dicey. I hope, if Lucas is insistent on keeping Greedo shooting first, that at least some more work has gone into making the shot look better, or at the very least it has been edited so the Han Solo torso shift isn't so obvious.

The thing that makes both the change and the complaining useless, is that Greedo was pointing a gun at him and saying he was going to kill him. That alone justifies shooting him, and it doesn't make Han any more badass that he shot him. (I guess if you looked at it as a gunslinger with a quicker shot, but it's not a character change as people say it is.) That said, that same exact reason is why Lucas changing it doesn't make sense. He was already in the clear morally for killing him, but it makes it look like luck was the reason Han lived, not skill.

Lucas says a lot of things that don't make much sense, like that the original Jabba scene was meant to be an effects shot with the fat alien slug. Not sure what the guy's deal is, he seems horrified that people will think he didn't have the whole saga planned out the second he started writing the script. The original scene plays so much better that most filmmakers would call that a happy accident, at any rate.

The way I've always read the Greedo scene was Han had better get his gun out and ready to fire 'cause this bounty hunter (who specifically came to kill Solo for not paying off Jabba) has his gun out and is poised and ready to shoot. Han listens very carefully and knows that Greedo can shoot at any moment. It's kill or be killed. Greedo says he's been waiting a long time for this. Han better not wait any longer or he'll get...shot at twenty years later.

I can handle every change made in any of the saga. I can even handle Anakin at the end of Jedi, the stupid ewok song, anything. The fact that he changed the Han shooting first part pisses me off beyond belief. Ok rant over....

I also like most of the changes done to the original trilogy for the special editions except for greedo shooting 1st and the the 2 CGI jabba's in ANH from 1997 and 2004 and I think the CGI jabba should be updated a little bit for the blu-ray release.

They've fixed Jabba in The Phantom Menace a little bit, so I'd imagine they'll tweak him for A New Hope as well. Let's hope!

I was initially disgusted when I saw HC inserted into RotJ but just today I was looking at the pic again with Shaw and I see that GL was trying to make him look as young as possible seeing as he was near 80 that wasn't easy. The attempt was to have him appear as he was before turning to the dark side I assume. He looks like maybe a 40-50 year old. In EpIII HC was obviously not that old when he turned (early 20's). In that respect, I can understand replacing the image w/HC but his face wouldn't have changed that much so the death scene in RotJ would still look out of place unless they re-shot that w/HC and a photo double for Mark! It could be done since most of the shots have Hamill in shadows. There's a couple shots at the end where Vader's head drops away that you would have to digitally insert HC but it's only a partial face shot. I would be interested to see if they could pull this off.

The only scenes i don't like in the Special Editions are:

- Ronto walks in front of camera blocking the whole screen during the Road block
- Droid hitting the other droid during the entrance to Mos Eisley
- Greedo shooting
- Han & Jabba scene
- Vader's voyage to the stardestroyer from Bespin
- Jedi Rocks
- Hayden as Anakin ghost

Who knows what changes are in store this time. Some reports say there are none and others say to expect more changes. So it will be interesting to see which reports are right

They used the same model as TPM's Jabba for the 2004 ANH version, but TPM's Jabba just looks so much better, yet it was rendered about 5 years earlier.
