What George doesn't realize, is that something like Star Wars, once released to the public, belongs to the public -- not him. It's like any piece of art. What would people say if da Vinci took the Mona Lisa and painted a hat on her head?

None? Same pink sabers? When they said "select lightsaber shots", they really meant "select lightsaber shots". Geez.

If Vader's "no" in ROTJ is also legit, then Lucas has really lost his sanity, not to mention the laughable new Obi "scream". I really hope that all of this is completely fake and not the real deal. The only glimmer of hope I have is, what was stated by members of Lucasfilm at the press event, and even that is quickly fading.
Some people are so upset they're going to teach Lucasfilm a lesson by purchasing the blu-ray set on September 16. They'll never dare mislead the consumers with their b.s. marketing ever again!

Remember when the special editions were in theaters only? Remember when the '95 set was the final home video release?

(image from nmycon's website)

Lucas has SW fans by the balls and he knows it. Today has been interesting but ultimately most of those expressing discontent will still buy the set.

Ken, where u at?

I agree that once something is released to the public sector, the public has a say in it. That being said, you have started a shit storm with that post.

Its like how the owner of a major company has to answer to the company's board members. It may be his company, but he can be removed if he doesnt play ball with the board. Prpblem is Lucas board members so to speak are all sniveling yes men and he wont listen to the public who gave him all his money. Without us he would be nothing. I could live without star wars, but star wars could not live without us, the fans.

What choice do we have to see it in 1080p? Download it illegally. And most won't do that..i dont cuz i prefer to watch blu-rays non-compressed even though to most the difference isnt huge, it is to me.

Plus, as an old internet article once said...star wars fans don't like star wars..they like the idea of star wars. Your not a true star wars fan without ***** and complaining about it while buying it at the same time.

Anyone thinking these are just the HDTV versions then think again. There are no versions, including the bootleg Chinese Blu-Rays from years ago, that have the clarity these rips have.Just face it guys, this is what you are going to get when you get your Blu-rays, albeit less compressed
These weren't official pics I saw. Maybe you don't have the right rip.

da Vinci apologists would say it was always his intention to give Mona Lisa a proper hat but the technology had not yet been developed, nor had that particular type of hat materialized in society. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a hater/complainer/whiner who can't just enjoy the Mona Lisa the way it's meant to be.

Do you absolutely require SW in 1080p? If so, then you probably don't have a choice. But, if this isn't a life/death situation, I'd say you do have a choice, unless you want to give in to the self-loathing SW fan mindset of buying things you don't like because you feel obligated to do so.

We are F'N yes men at times for the company we work, unless we own our own business. I doubt many of us do things at our job we always agree with. What do you expect the guys to do? Quit or be fired?

I've invested enough time in that. I'm over it. I opened my set and watched it: it wasn't noticeable most of the time, but I'll always know it's there.

Of course I have a choice..lol..my choice is to enjoy the version they put out in 1080p but complain about parts of it endlessly. I want to see it in the best picture quality i can and will purchase the version they release if thats the only way i can see it. I have a right to complain..and you have a right to not view people complaining in the forums.

here's a link a got through wayback machine to article i was talking about..

Most have seen it i'm sure..but none the less its still a good read.

Wow what a thread this is. Is the the biggest thread of all time anywhere?! Unfortunately the Vader No's might be real. They sound extremely fake to me, compared to the awesome grunt he makes when picking him up. I agree with the people who say it's the worst change he could make, even worse than adding the young Anakin ghost. The krayt dragon sound sounds unbelievably stupid. If that is real George has lost his freaking mind. The good thing about George tinkering over and over with these movies is that it reminds us that nearly all of our favorite movies are untampered with and will always be the same as how we saw them in the theater.
