Hey, I'm fine with Sebulba. In fact, I'm one of the few who actually love TPM.

But it's ridiculous to just stick him into some random shot in RotJ. Absolutely unnecessary and ridiculous.

Mark my words, the next home video release will see the replacement of the original Yoda with CG Yoda. "The Master" has completely lost his mind.

So....Adywan,
When can we expect some 1080p presentations of your "Revisited" series of fan-edits?
I am eagerly awaiting them to say the least.

At this point I'm just buying this set for collection purposes. I can watch my UOT discs whenever I want. Or, I can watch my undeniably hoky (obviously the cheese was added in the OT for continuity reasons am I right?), 6-part complete saga with phenomenal deleted scenes that look gorgeous...

The silence adds a sense of weight, which is perfect considering this is his final chance to save himself, let alone his son and everybody else. Adding the NO! just makes a mockery of the weight and stress on his shoulders at that moment. Look at a funeral, people are somber and dignified. It's a time of reflection and respect for a life lived. Now imagine you standing up at a funeral and yelling NOOOO! It doesn't work.
Yup. Just like in the redlettermedia reviews, the opening scene of ANH tells you all you need to know about the plight of the rebels and the strength of the Empire without saying 1 word.

In the prequels, Lucas devolved into making the characters blab on and on while walking or on couches instead of conveying the information visually.

I followed that link and finally watched the clips of the changes, all I can say is:

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Its like GL has begun to parody himself. The new Obi-Wan scream sounds like Ponda Boba is having really rough sex.

And the Vader NOOOOO? Did GL not get the huge joke that was the "NOOOOO!!" in episode 3? It sounds out of place and just hilarious, its a step above editing in jar-jar to the OT.

In a few decades the changes will gradually turn SW into a comedy.

If the NO! is real, then it makes me think of the scene in Crimson Tide, where Gene Hackman's character says "Bravo" to Denzel Washington's character about not talking over the moment and just taking it in at sunset just before they dive. There's a poinence there in that message that Lucas appearently used to know and understand, but again, now if true, is completely at a loss to comprehend.

Darth Vader's 'Nooo!' in Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi (Supposed Blu-Ray Clip) - YouTube

The first "No" I don't care for as much. It's still cold and emotionless. But the "Nooooo" seems to kind of work. Like it's Vader's "Humanity" resurfacing.

But the more I watch it, I kind of like that the first "No" is so cold and emotionless. Like someone groggily coming to their senses.
I honestly don't mind that at all.

Guys, we all know (at least those of us on here should) how ALL the films were originally. We've seen them a ton of times (I assume), so what's the big deal if GL ties everything into a nice bow? Should he NOT have added "Episode IV: A New Hope"? I'm not getting into specific changes, but come on. It's not like he's utterly destroying anything. Now I could see if he cut down the film from some 3 hours to a mere 45 minutes, but please, these little additions and tweaks are nothing but a service to the franchise. You want to see what you saw back in the day? YouTube it, or go find other means (VHS works well). You want to see a complete franchise envisioned by the original creator? Check out the Blu-ray when it comes next month.

"But CGI...it sux bcaz its nt orgnal & only 2 satisfy kidz!?!"

Please. As an "original" fan, I much rather have awesome visuals to accompany the awesome story. Not some crap I can whip together at home myself.

I would just love to see how many of these "haters" will be picking up the set come release day. Probably all, if not the majority. And for that, I give a huge LOL!

when i first seen the clip i thinking in my mind people are going to flip....I'm still skeptical about it. its not as bad as people made it out to be, i think people are still jumping to conclusions, we don't know where the actual source came from, really need Lucasfilms to comment on it....

Is he even played by Harrison Ford anymore?

Just checked that scene from the rip and compared it with the 2004 DVD. Yup, it's been changed. It's basically the same visual effect, but actually looks less fake, oddly enough. It's kind of hard to explain. The Carbonites melting points start in slightly different places, and the melting edges have a bit of a slight orange effect as it strips away. It looks like lava almost. Again, like the Ewoks eyes. Had you not pointed it out I wouldn't have noticed. And I already watched this whole scene a few hours ago.

Yes, LOL, it's still Harrison Ford. Apparently the de-thawing effect hasn't changed a whole lot but is a new effect.

You mean the same character who was basically an a-hole and nearly caused a needless nuclear war?

What other messages should we learn?

I can't believe all the kvetching going on over "leaked" PIRATED COPIES. *Nobody* has an actual Blu-ray in hand yet the hysteria has gone beyond hyperbolical dimensions. It very well maybe true, but I'm going to wait until actual discs get legit actual reviews before passing judgement.

If you’re offended by the Obi-Wan scream and the Vader line, the good news is that sound replacement is about the easiest thing for fan-editors to fix. I expect you’ll see re-dubbed 1080p versions floating around the internet well before Halloween -- and you’ll never have to hear those lines again.

So relax.

What’s getting overlooked in this discussion is the apparent PQ of the original films – which look all quite strong. STAR WARS may be the best looking 70s film available on bluray.

Maybe the absence of the usual complaining about DNR and edge-enhancement is what’s leading to an over-emphasis on these other matters…

First, it's sad that you prefer visuals over story. Seems that in that category, you're in good company with GL...(at least as far as the prequels go)

Second, he isn't tying it all in a neat bow. He's strangling it all with a rope and a noose.

Third, these aren't "haters." These, like myself, I big fans of a classic trilogy, watching it being sabotaged by its very creator. Imagine Shakespeare going back and putting a happy ending to Romeo & Juliet (ok, I may being a little extreme here, but that's just and example). And if enough of these fans would cancel their orders, and hit George where it really hurts (financially...), maybe he'd realize what he's doing is wrong.

At the very least, GL could have tried and pull a Peter Jackson and ask fans their opinion on proposed changes/additions for the release. I can guarantee you that his Nooooo! would get an overwhelming Noooooooooooo!!
