It was saying select 2 day delivery for release date delivery. If they aren't offering that anymore than maybe they had so many orders they can't guarantee release date delivery anymore.? I just checked and it is still saying you can receive release day delivery.

Everyone just needs to accept the fact that Lucas will never let the UOT see the light of day. Forget all the reasons he gives (cost to restore, not his true vision, etc.).

I'm sure some if not most will cave and buy these anyway, but I'm part of that 18% in the poll who will only buy the UOT. Since I've never bought Star Wars on home video in any formant, I don't think I'm going to cave now.

Where are you located? If you go to the Blu-ray's product page it says on there release day delivery might be available for most U.S. continental addresses. It says this right under where it says: want to receive this the day it comes out.
I'm not sure if this is better or worse than the US packaging.
These look like they'd crack awfully easily (or likely be cracked when you open the set new). I have not seen packaging like this since my Sledge Hammer DVD sets.
That stack of disc trays in the UK set is similar to the original packaging for the DVD set Alien Quadrilogy, and the complaints I heard were that that one fell apart if you even looked at it the wrong way. Unless they've improved the tape that serves as a binding, then that might be a recipe for frustration.
Nothing's a perfect solution, I guess. I think I prefer the clean-looking labels of the US pack, but I don't like the cardboard sleeves so much.
So how fast is amazon's 2 day shipping for you all. The release date is the 16, but it says the estimated delivery date to be Sept. 20??!
I'm sure that due to the number of people who've pre-ordered this set, that Amazon will make sure to prepare many of the packages beforehand before officially sending them out.
The Blu-Rays are, after all, already out there.
Hell, there's a chance some Amazon customers will get their sets early. Just have to wait and see . . .
CRS, I have a really important question for you. I have two friends that are hard of hearing. They want to buy the set but they want to know if the extras are subtitled. If they extras aren't, they don't want to buy the set with the extras.

No. I may be firm on my OT stance, but I'm eagerly anticipating the Prequels (I have that set on pre-order), and can't wait until caps from those films start popping up. They should certainly be a feast for the eyes.

Hard of hearing, or completely deaf?
I have a hearing loss myself, and while I would prefer subtitles, I would not pass up 2 (or 3) discs of Star Wars supplements due to lack of subtitles.
Worse comes to worse I use headphones and everything works out fine
It's worth noting that past Star Wars bonus discs rarely have subtitles. I think the Empire of Dreams doc may have had them, but I don't think anything else on the '04 disc did... I can't speak for the blus though

No. I really want to know what all 3 prequels look like and I want to know what all was added to them! I think those 3 will have lots added to them even if the changes are small things.

One is totally deaf and another friend asked me about that who is deaf in one ear with major loss in the other ear.
The first guy said that Episode 1 had all the extras subbed and Episode 2 only had some subbed.
Anyways, news of this matters to two people I know and finding out the answer would be awesome.

These current defacements are just the beginning. Today, engineers with their computers can add color to black-and-white movies, change the soundtrack, speed up the pace, and add or subtract material to the philosophical tastes of the copyright holder. Tommorrow, more advanced technology will be able to replace actors with "fresher faces," or alter dialogue and change the movement of the actor's lips to match. It will soon be possible to create a new "original" negative with whatever changes or alterations the copyright holder of the moment desires. The copyright holders, so far, have not been completely diligent in preserving the original negatives of films they control. In order to reconstruct old negatives, many archivists have had to go to Eastern bloc countries where American films have been better preserved.
In the future it will become even easier for old negatives to become lost and be "replaced" by new altered negatives. This would be a great loss to our society. Our cultural history must not be allowed to be rewritten.
There is nothing to stop American films, records, books, and paintings from being sold to a foreign entity or egotistical gangsters and having them change our cultural heritage to suit their personal taste.
I accuse the companies and groups, who say that American law is sufficient, of misleading the Congress and the People for their own economic self-interest.
I accuse the corporations, who oppose the moral rights of the artist, of being dishonest and insensitive to American cultural heritage and of being interested only in their quarterly bottom line, and not in the long-term interest of the Nation.
The public's interest is ultimately dominant over all other interests. And the proof of that is that even a copyright law only permits the creators and their estate a limited amount of time to enjoy the economic fruits of that work.
There are those who say American law is sufficient. That's an outrage! It's not sufficient! If it were sufficient, why would I be here? Why would John Houston have been so studiously ignored when he protested the colorization of "The Maltese Falcon?" Why are films cut up and butchered?
Attention should be paid to this question of our soul, and not simply to accounting procedures. Attention should be paid to the interest of those who are yet unborn, who should be able to see this generation as it saw itself, and the past generation as it saw itself.
