I have no doubt that we will see not only more SW films in the future, made by other filmmakers, but indeed remakes. Everything gets remade, even when it's unnecessary. There are at least 3 versions of The Ten Commandments, all of them now on Blu, a few versions of The Wizard of Oz. Even the ancient Beowulf gets redone every few years. Hopefully I'm still around when these 6 films are remade in the future. I'm curious to see what another director and writers could do with this material.

And yet there´s method to his madness as far as the Vader dialogue change is concerned. Yes, adding the ´no´, then ´no......................!´ is awful and cringeworthy, especially the cheesy way its delivered with that echo effect, but one can see what George is thinking, even if its flawed reasoning and totally unnecessery, even going so far as to greatly undermine the power of the scene as it originally was (one of the best/most iconic scenes in the entire trilogy, perfect as it was IMO).

He´s trying to create symmetry between the PT and OT by having both trilogies end with Anakin/Vader going ´No................................!´, linking OT Vader to PT Vader and emphasising that they´re the same person. I know, its like storytelling 101, emphasising a point that is already obvious, but in George´s mind it was absolutely necessery

There´s no reason that I can see for changing puppet Yoda into digital Yoda. It would be expensive and for no real purpose. That´s why I think George will never do it, however nuts he may seem to us now.

It's one thing when he starts messing up ROTJ and even ANH, but ESB is different. It's the hallowed one, maybe b/c Lucas did not write it or direct. The less he messes with it the better. The extra vader scene added already was not needed.

Well, it appears to be Lucas' opinion that "it was the best I could do for 30 years, and now I can make it better". As misguided as some may think he is, it really seems like he's doing what he believes is right, to connect as much of the overall story together as possible. Folks say, "why does the OT get most of the changes?", and IMO, Lucas' reason is probably akin to, "because the advances in film-making allowed me to do the PT like I wanted, but I had to rush things with the OT...so now, I'm fixing it".

And what about Jabba in ROTJ? It looks nothing like the one in ANH. Come on George, replace it with CGI!
have you seen ppl on The Biggest Loser after they've lost over half their bodyweight? They don't even look the same. In this case Jabba has become a giant obese slug so he's not going to look the same.

As far as I know, the answers to both questions is "no". Yoda will be completely digital in the PT, and while Lucas is doing some minor changes for the OT, Frank Oz's original puppetry will be left mostly intact. Also, "Empire of Dreams" isn't being included on this release, probably because Lucas wanted to show some stuff that folks hadn't seen recently.

I never realized Anakin and Vader were the same person until that No was put in. I was like, hey I know that No from somewhere. Wasn't there another movie with someone saying No and crying a lot and killing lemmings or younglings.

I always assumed Vader had some flesh eating disease that ate away his jaw so he needed that suit to talk for him, because just a voice box would have been kind of creepy. I guess they could have taped the voice box to the roof of his mouth, but they were going for PG here. At least I think that's what George's original notes say about him. Vader - creepy old guy that smoked too much back in the 60s.

If George were to do what is right he would put some pants on Jabba in the latest version. Maybe give him a pipe too.
