This is a pretty good representation of the reddest (and bluest) the sabers get in ANH.

GEEZ the lightsaber looks bad in that scene. **SIGH** It boggles the mind that such blatant inconsistency was allowed through. You can see scratches and lines in the oversized white core like someone scribbled it in with MS Paint. I'll just have to grit my teeth in those scenes and power through. (Though I'll be sad inside)
The "green" actually doesn't look that bad now that I look at it. I only noticed a bit of it for a few frames. The movement of the blade, however is an entirely different story. Even if there was no prop blade for reference, I'm sure ILM could still do better than this...

Well we already know that there will be 3D blu-rays coming out (at least for TPM), so doesn't that already make these blu-rays non-definitive?

We know that there are better versions in the works at this very moment.

Star Wars has had multiple releases on half of the formats it was released on, I'd say there's a pretty good chance we get another 2D blu-ray release down the road, in addition to the 3D ones (if that ever materializes past TPM)

I thought they scratched that idea a while ago:

I mean that, although Vader's light saber shouldn't be pink, it has also never been that red, that I can recall.

Say what you will, I'm glad that in ANH Luke's lightsaber is no longer green. They fixed (one of) the most jarring and noticeable color error in the 2004 transfer.

There have been a number of re-releases on Blu-ray already.

As I've said before - less black crush and I'll be happy. I'm looking forward to testing this on my own TV and building my own opinion

We know there will be a theatrical release of TPM, everything is pending that.

and he would have to further alter the content to make it another "version". Every 3D Blu-ray on the shelf has a 3D counterpart sold separately.

There won't be another "version" on 2D blu-ray. Unless you consider the slim chance the UOT a new version released.

Most fans want the make the films better, not add in unnecessary things like these.

As I said before, there were tons of other mistakes that were not fixed. Ben's saber during the fight with Vader still has no white core for part of the fight. Just the blue glow over the metal rod. I posted screens of it a while back.
Why doesnt someone just ask the guy who already has a copy it. I mean when i get it the first thing im doing is going straight to the scene where Vader screams noooooooo. Someone needs to ask that guy on here if he can check.

Only if TPM is a huge finacial success. If it flops then it's not worth releasing the others.

my point being that if the decision is to make ewoks blink then why only Wicket? and in only 2/3 shots
Some of the baby Ewoks blink also but that seems to be about it. None of the other Ewoks have even had their eyes changed, just Wicket

Right, considering its the worst one, I doubt alot of people will pay the money for a 3-d showing, ending the whole thing.
